The malted barley is a pilsner malt produced in the Scandinavian countries. We use the very best of hops known under the names of Saazer and Hallertau, and the liquid is pure Norwegian mountain water.

Version brewed for the export market contains 5.5% ABV.

500ml can. A bit more than the average pilsner with golden color and white head. Better than most Norwegian standard commercial pilsner.

DruncanVeasey (8603) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUL 15, 2009
4.5% bottle swigged with Dirtman in Vigeland Sculpture Park. BREAKIN’ THE LAW, BREAKIN’ THE LAW. Appearance? Some ruddy-cheeked peasants frolicking in the straw on the label. Crisp and clean with a lingering, slightly nutty bitterness, vanilla, Weetabix and corn. Decent grassy, lemony hop- something of a surprise. Fresh and pleasant park bench refreshment, 13 NOK a bottle. You won’t find a cheaper rate in Oslo, unless you steal it.

Kestral (506) - Årnes, NORWAY - JUN 6, 2009
Pale yellow, 1cm bubbly head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is sparse grassy and metallic hops. Flavour is much the same, good grassy hop bitterness minus the metallic notes. Some vague malt sweetness. Fizzy carbonation. Thin. One of the best macro lagers.

altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - FEB 19, 2009
In Oslo. Yellow body, medium head. Grassy nose. Some malt and some hops in the taste. Grassy. Watery. Decent.

estpiwo (1319) - ESTONIA - NOV 20, 2008
Canned. Pale yellow color, Aroma is grassy with some hoppy tones. Flavor is malty, only some hoppy notes. Pilsner?

TBone (18671) - Pori, FINLAND - OCT 4, 2008
(Can, BB 01/2009, alc. 4.7%). "Original pilsner". Pale yellow color, decent white head. Grassy hoppy raw apple aroma. Fizzy carbonation. Saaz-hoppy flavor with harsh papery maltyness and thin body. At least this is hoppy enough for being called "pilsener".

oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - OCT 4, 2008
Canned (ABV 4.7%, thanks yngwie). Golden colour, mediumsized white fluffy head, some slight lace. Aroma is melted rubber/plastic along with some hops and malts. Flavour is harsh rubbery grass along with some mild unpleasant earthy notes. Harsh.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2009 22.08.2008, 0,5l Can. Pale yellow colour. Aroma is weak and the texture is thin. The beer is lively carbonated with a white lasting head. Some bitternes in the aftertaste. Re-rate 30.01.2008. Still the same....

NosirIwont (2659) - Husum, DENMARK - JUL 10, 2008
Bottle. 4.7%. Pours straw yellow with a diminishing white head. Small lacing. Sweetish, slightly hoppy cereal aroma. Flavour is sweet. Hops and cereals. Lingering, mild hop bitterness. A decent industrial lager. 11-07-08.

Gr0ve (2176) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 11, 2008
500 ml can. Golden colour. Crystal clear. Tall white fine-laced head. Citrusy and floral hop aroma. Crisp hop flavours and a delicious light malty flavour upfront. Refreshing carbonation balances the hop bitterness. Light-bodied. Perfectly balanced. Definitely one of the best Norwegian pilseners.
