Syrupy, "Belgian" scent, with a hint of rum. Crystal clear with amber colour. Pale head that disappears rather quickly and very few of it. Caramelised, sweet malty taste, lefts a sweet taste on the tongue. Medium carbonation, slightly dry. Not too bad. :-)

Flesje tijdens vakantie gedronken. Licht amberkleurig bier, ietsje troebel. Aroma citrusachtig en kruidig. De smaak is kruidig en sprankelend. Smaak blijft even hangen.

Bottle from a six pack thanks to my grandfather. Was a tad warm but we drank a few just the same. Nothing stands out. Adjunct or near adjunct.

Robe orange et limpide, pas de mousse. Armes de cidre et crales. Got pommes et agrumes. Des fruits jaunes restent en bouche. Une bire correcte.

Old bottle in LA - a month past 10/2015 best-before date. Lots of clumped yeast in bottle. Sweet, bready pils malt aroma. Strange abbey beer, tastes a lot like a poorly balanced pilsner. Not a very convincing belgian beer.

Review: Bottle of Abbaye de Oudkerken Pale Ale: ABV: 6.2% Bought a six pack of these beers in my nearest Lidl in France. Couldnt pass by, noticing that they were so cheap (As far as I remember about 50c for a bottle). I like beer, but I love cheap beer! It also had a very distinctive packaging which caught the eye Appearance: On pour there was a clear golden colour with a nice white head appearing, which doesnt last, and some lacing. Phew, what a smell, hitting immediately on the nose. Hints of lemon, roasted malts and yeast, a very strong alcohol smell. Like it a lot, rustic, a killer smell, like a fire burning on the nose, and very sweet. A very deep taste of sweet syrupy malts, a slight hoppy aftertaste. Overall I liked this beer, not going to set the world alight, but for the price it was decent, and was easy to drink and enjoy. Didnt quite feel the 6.2% ABV. A good beer considering the price and value you are getting.

Colore tra il dorato carico e l'ambrato, schiuma bianca "avara" è poco persistente. Aroma di lievito belga, pepata e leggero erbaceo. Al palato sempre lievito belga con coda di crosta di pane e speziato, leggermente agrumata. Corpo medio-leggero, discretamente carbonata.

This was the best thing available in the nearest Lidl to us in France - and in that context its not too bad. Its clear orange, no head, and a bit more body than a pale lager. Tastes of Sweet syrupy malts.
