4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
750ml bottle. Fizzes like crazy as you take the cap off (no cork), but thankfully it’s not a gusher, just in a hurry to get in the duvel tulip. Pours chocolate brown with a ton of coarse ground pepper sized floaties and a two fingered oatmeal colored head that dies away slowly. The aroma is dark, ripe fruits, raisins, prunes, plums and some spicy, yeasty aromas. Maybe some Burgandy. The mouthfeel is large. The taste is sweet at first with dark, ripe fruits followed by some light alcohol notes, some light bitternes, and an almost creamy mouthfeel that finishes with a lot of taste and a nice, mild alcohol burn. Pretty tasty.
Bottle from Beers of Europe. Forest fruits, malt, brown sugar, some caramel. Lovely full body, warming character. Great. cmacklin (1379) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 4, 2018
330ml bottle. Pours a murky orange-brown with yeast particles floating around and a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of bready malt, caramel, raisin, prune, plum and brown sugar. Sweet flavour of bready malt, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, prune, raisin, plum, cinnamon, yeast and red wine with a dry, slightly tart, mildly bitter, warming booze finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Tasty, has some complexity. Mister_Li (1635) - GERMANY - DEC 25, 2017
Klares Dunkelrot mit reichlich Schaum. Malzig, etwas Karamell, fruchtig, Pflaume, Rosinen, Rumtopf, leicht cremig, sehr gut! ozzatoadisback (225) - ITALY - DEC 22, 2017
Pours a not too attractive murky brown, with a slightly off-white head that shows decent retention and nice lacing. Aroma is caramel malt with a slight chocolate contribution, a bit of sugary softness, dark/dried fruit notes and slight spiciness. Very nice and quite intense. Taste as per aroma, with some light and pleasant alcohol warmth. Overall obviously sweet but nicely balanced by a dry and clean enough finish. Medium to dense body with average carbonation, quite mouthfilling. Overall nicely complex and well balanced. A very good example of belgian strong dark ale. yoxik75 (461) - Wroclaw, POLAND - DEC 10, 2017
Uzupełnienie profilu notatki.
Piana niewielka, znika do krążka. Ar: Lean cherry leathers, vanilla, cocoa, and peach; rounded, rich caramel, sweet and oozy. Ap: Chestnut brown and hazy; medium-small very light mocha creme head with low retention, leaving a half-moon of medium bubbles, a thin remaining edge ring, and a fine haze layer. T: Slight sherry; caramel, bread crust, and spiced rum; cotton candy and overripe peach; medium-low sweetness; bitterness is medium and fairly clean, with a black pepper and black currant hop flavor; toast, vanilla, and a little bitterness on the finish. P: Medium body with high carbonation; very smooth and silky, but on the edge of sharply carbonated. O: A really tasty Belgian brown ale; lots of spice, fruit, and complexity overall; nice mouthfeel, rich and decadent yet very drinkable. This beers owe its peculiarity to its creation 7 malt of different type and three hops of country dispute. It draws at 9 °, its color is that of a dark ruby, with slightly pale notes. Once in the mouth, you will have a strong impression of bitterness, with very strong hints of sweet aroma, which is quite incredible, because it is made without sugar. You will also feel burning wood. It is eaten as one can taste a red wine of grand cru. Villyzzz (463) - Espoo, FINLAND - NOV 3, 2017
