Abbaye des Rocs Grand Cru has a rich, complex fruit aroma of cherries, golden raisins, peaches, and assorted dried fruit, laced with honey and caramel. Smooth, rich flavors reminiscent of cherries dipped in caramel, finishing with notes of dried chocolate, roasted almonds, and a hint of molasses.

Aroma is dominated by yeast esters -- I mainly picked up clove and dried fruits. Heavy brown pour with plenty of particulates. Head doesn’t last, but it’s off-white while it’s there. Flavor is very sweet malt, with immense fruitiness behind it. There’s quite a bit of complexity to it, but I made the mistake of starting a cigar part way through my snifter, so I didn’t get as much out of it as I would have liked to. Smooth texture and exceptionally well hidden alcohol.

Hazy brown color with frothy beige head. Aroma has toasted malt, earthy notes, some cacao and light molasses. Taste is quite balanced. Some toasted malt, fruity yeast notes, light metallic notes on the finish. Medium body with high effervescence. Not bad but not as good as expected.

33 cl. bottle at Frederik den VI. High fluffy white lasting head. Clear dark ruby body. Sweet malt with dark dried fruit aroma. Sweet roasted malt berries caramel flavor. Nice amount of hops bitterness, low carbonation, long bitter sweet finish. Alcohol level seemed just right.

0.33 l bottle from 'Belgiuminabox.com', best before January 2019. Slow Gusher. Clear, very dark red with a medium large, dense and slightly creamy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish, malty, rather fruity and moderately yeasty-spicy aroma of strawberry jam, figs, some molasses and a touch of oak. Quite sweet, moderately bitter, malty, quite fruity and slightly yeasty-spicy taste of strawberry jam, figs, candied cherries, some molasses, dessert wine and some marzipan, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly yeasty-spicy, minimally tart and a bit boozy finish with hints of oxidation. Over medium-bodied, smooth, slightly creamy and quite effervescent mouthfeel, sparkling carbonation. Quite complex, superbly balanced, lots of fruitiness, appealing appearance and a pleasant mouthfeel. Pretty good but not outstanding.

Magnum 1'5l. Tres años despues de fecha de consumo. Una gozada. El único pero la levadura coagulada que impidió beber la botella entera sin residuo. Fina. Redonda. Limpia de matices extraños. Genial!

Tap. Pours light hazy reddish brown with a medium offwhite head. Aromas of dark fruits, bananas, toffee, bready malts, caramel. Taste has caramel, bready malts, light bitterness, dark fruits, light estery fruity notes, some acidity.

W aromacie rodzynki, ciemne owoce, drożdże. W smaku lekko słodki i ogólnie dobrze zachowany balans w smaku w tym stylu. Nie jest zły, ale dupy nie urywa.

Pours reddish brown with a cappuccino head. Aroma is flat, just some tiny traces of yeast and dark fruits, which is quite unexpected. Taste is sweet but controlled, with a sort of winery dryness but no traces of alcohol. Very thin and watery body. Not bad, but it lacks something. An unlucky bottle?

Owocowe, słodkie pełne z fajnymi pismakami kandyzowanych owoców. Gushing i sporo farfocli.
