COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer, robust in taste and strength (9%) is the tops for flavour. It has a fruity and spicy bouquet, it has a stark taste, between a sharp bitterness and a caramelised flavour. It has no sugar, and this pure malt beer oscillates between various tendencies which all round off the bitterness. It has a peppery taste at the back of the mouth and a sharpness on the tongue. It is active in the mouth and lets each flavour express itself individually. It is very active in the glass which gives it a full, lasting, head. It has a long conclusion and puts emphasis on an ever present bitterness but less supported by the caramel. The final impression is one of gingerbread without sugar.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) Orange golden, hazy ale with a thick creamy head. Incredible fruity aroma. Very, very aromatic but at the same time almost suffocatingly sweet. A beer that should definitely be enjoyed in small quantities. 140604 and 061297

Amber, minimal trüb, wenig Schaum. Geruch alkoholisch fruchtig süß, dazu auch noch würzig. Geschmack sehr malzig süß, würzig, reife Früchte.

Bottle at home in London with JP - sourced from Beermerchants. Opens with a pop and appears to be a slow gusher; but tonight I’m on my game and get the pour going in time. Alas, there are many floaty bits in this amber-orange beer - which also has a surprisingly weak, foamy off-white head. The nose holds strong notes of butterscotch, toffee, stewed fruits, candi sugar, Belgian yeast, berries. Big sweet flavor, fairly sticky, with some sturdy fruit character, bready malts, toffee, meaty dates, slight grain husk. Medium bodied with average, active carbonation; the spritliness of the bubbles definitely lifts the palate. Lightly warming finish with some yeast character, esters, more berries, ripe and lightly dried fruits, hearty bread, more toffee. Nice beer, just nothing to lift it above the pack.

Amber colour, thin collar of foam, persistent; original whirlpool of thin bubbles in the middle of the glass. Sweet aroma of malt, alcohol, very light phenol, apricot almonds. Good body structure, malty, warm, winy, light caramel, light liquorice, apricot almonds. Strong palate, with a bitter-sour note, evident apricot almond bitterness.

Bottle at Chris_O bottlefest 2007. Copper colour then a massive amount of floaters. Sweetish Belgian triple, tangerine. Just so difficult to drink. Syrupy sweet.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2004 Hearty yeasty amber appearance with a thick finger of foam. Aroma is deeply fruity, with lots of raisin, plum, peaches, pears and dark chocolate. The body is robust though spritzy. The flavour is sweet, with chocolate, raisin, caramel, and many of the same fruits mentioned above. Lots of esters and residual sugars. Very rich and warming with a splash of alcohol at the back.

Hazy golden/gray color with lots of yeast. Small off white head. A clear aroma of bubble gum comes as you open the bottle, but once the beer is in the glass, the aroma is different. Fruity and spicy, erathy and with a dry feeling. Flavor is fruity and the spicy notes are still there. Great palate and a rather mild finish.
