3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark reddish brown and cloudy with a frothy tan head - also had a chunk of yeast at the start of the pour. Sugary, dark fruity aroma with yeast&leaves. Dark fruity, slightly sour, malty, slightly nutty flavor that finishes with sugary sweet and a very faint touch of alcohol. Smooth, medium bodied palate.
UPDATED: NOV 18, 2017 Ligner cola.
Dufter gæret, næsten som marmaite.
Smagen er sød og maltet og rigtig fin.

Gusher. Dark brown with nice khaki head that runs away. Lots of sediment. Aroma is licorice, port wine, rich raisin, fresh baked bread. Medium bodied sweet candy sugar followed by a rich malty wave on the first sip. Nutty malt with some sweet dates in the finish. Nice and balanced but to be perfectly honest it not really my thing. Not quite sure where this fits into their range (stronger than the Brune, but not the grand cru). As it opens up it's actually a bit boozy. I enjoy a few dark strong ales, but the style is admittedly not my favorite. This one didn't really convert me either. reebtogi (6392) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 5, 2017
750ml capped bottle pours amber in color with a 2 fingers of off-white head that retains well and leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and raisin with some yeasty notes. Taste is a raisin and caramel malty sweetness with a grassy and spicy bitterness and a bit of yeast funk in the finish. Light to medium bodied with abundant carbonation that teases the tongue. Overall, a brew that hides the alcohol well and is balanced and flavorful. Bill Becker (1809) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 18, 2017

Poured from 750ml bottle a...dang! It started foaming over all over the place. I had to rush it to the kitchen and grab another couple of glasses so I wouldn't lose too much of it.
Well, after it finall settled down, it poured a cloudy rusty brown with, umm, a large head of foam that shrank slowly leaving a solid fine layer with lots of lacing.
The smell hit me before I ever got the cap fully off..it was a huge nose of sweet caramel malty goodness mixed in with good fruity tones like plum and apricot.
The taste is hugely sweet caramel but it's done right; the sweetness is not cloying and in fact, not negative in any way shape or form. My goodness, I'm now dreading the fact that I lost even 1 drop of this amazing brew.
After a few more sips, my palate begins to pick up on the fruity notes that I noted in the smell. Plum, a bit of apricot and some fig. I can't sense *any* bitterness what so ever and that's just fine by me. What a treat! And as far as it's abv by % goes..you've got to be kidding me!! 10%??? No sign of it in the taste at all and just a touch of warming as it goes down. Wow. Yum. This is world class stuff!!!
Bottom line: This is a brew that, if you see it in your neck of the woods, is *not* to be ignored! I recommend it on the highest level!
Just be *careful* when opening it!!! Sparf (289) - SWEDEN - OCT 6, 2017

W smaku dobry balans między słodyczą i goryczką. Skoro weszło na hejnał to w takim razie gładkie i pijalne :) DroolYeast (1685) - Odder, DENMARK - SEP 28, 2017
Tap. Aroma of caramel, raisins, fruity esters. Light hazy light brown with off-white head. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Medium body, watery feel and dark dried fruit in finish. Blastomorpha (127) - - SEP 16, 2017
This one coudn't wait to be poured after opening the bottle. Classic brown colour with a cappuccino head. The big amount expelled CO2 propelled a very sweet aroma of dark fruits and yeast. Taste is also very sweet as expected, but not so rich or complex. A bit watery too. Very drinkable, alcohol is well hidden. Nice but flatter than the other strong ales I tried from this great brewery. ardeo (547) - Flémalle, BELGIUM - SEP 11, 2017
