This beer needs a lot of work. It has an odd aroma and aftertaste that falls well short of your standard trippel. The taste is tolerable, but difficult if you're expecting a good tasting trip.

12floz bottle, no date, 9.2% ABV, $2 single tulip glass. Basic looking, kinda dark bright gold body with a thin film of head. Smells basic too, like a sugary breakfast cereal. My palate feels the burn of alcohol, which is very evident in this dense beer - cough syrup. Grassy hay, vegetable oil, and medicinal flavors are other noteworthy notes to an otherwise un-noteworthy ale - not god awful, but not good either. Surprisingly available to acquire as a single 12 oz bottle at the local Smith's in Santa Fe. A New Mexico trippel, why not? No Belgian glass handy so I pour it into a tallish beer glass. It comes out a dark yellow-gold and the head is practically nonexistent although there is steady carbonation. I lift for a smell, slightly fruity and somewhat yeasty. The taste is not bad, better than I expected. There is yellow raisin, yeast, a bit of grain and honey dew melon. A slightly bitter finish and the 9.2% abv shown on the label is totally in the background. I would drink this again. djd07 (15544) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUN 3, 2017
On tap at DRBT. Pours a hazy yellow gold with medium frothy white head. The aroma is yeast, clove, pepper, earth. Medium body, belgian yeast, pepper, earth, dry finish, good. crossovert (13909) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 26, 2016
355ml bottle. Hazed orange pour, this is very boozy and just not a good representation of the style, vegetal.

Pours opaque gold with little head; aromas of stone fruits; dry and syrupy palate; something is off... not a good representation. zebra (2312) - Illinois, USA - AUG 23, 2015

Cloudy deep golden with a thin dissipating white head. Nice aromas of citrus and pale Belgian malt, gentle melon and gentle grassy tones. Full bright flavor with lots of citrus and Belgian pale malt, a kiss of hay, something like grassy hops and a little melon, a tad doughy and a tad boozy. Not the most well made tripel, or the cleanest, but it’s tasty and enjoyable. Headbanger (4021) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUL 12, 2015
750ml bottle 7/12/15 (Courtesy of TerryR)-38° in Trappist Glass-Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma of yeast, fruit, malt, and pepper. Taste of the same with a bit more yeast, sugar, and a bit of alcohol. This medium to full bodied brew is well balanced and one of the better ones from this series. radagast83 (8476) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - APR 11, 2013
4oz draft pour. A very hazy golden yellow pour with a small white head. Aroma was grainy, lots of sweet and bold malts, touch of booze there, and yeast notes. Flavor was sweet grains, yeast, caramel notes. Okay.
