Pours pumpkin color with no head and leaves no lacing. Some pumpkin spice on the nose. The taste has a sweetness to it but not much pumpkin. The finish has an off-putting oily quality. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 9, 2009
Growler, from brewpub. Pours a dark orangish amber body with a small fizzy beige head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is typical of most pumpkin beers, just loads of pie spices with very little pumpkin meat. Cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, light brown sugar, and some toasty malt. The flavor is very similar, the usual mix of spices with some sweet and toasty malts. Not overly sweet, but it does lean to that side. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a fairly heavy and thick texture and moderate soft fizzy carbonation. A typical pumpkin ale, just load up on the spices and it’s good enough! Where’s the pumpkin?
