Gravicask (StABF2016)
Sweet fruity aroma, full and cakey, marmalade. Rich amber, brief head. Light grainy taste, bready, crusty, a bit husky. Light, a little watery, palate, but the beer is quite characterful. Finish has a zesty bitter tingle - nice!

Dark amber color, tiny white head. Dark fruits and caramel in the nose. Light-bodied. Light caramalt, but also dry maltyness. Barley grainy finish, light earthy hops. Uninteresting.

Abbeydale have achieved that increasingly rare feat in British breweing viz a superb best bitter. It is traditional in style but has a lovely sweet hoppy finish. An excellent session bitter of the old school.

Cask at Larkins Bar in Hull. Stable off-white head to a clear mahogany coloured body. Dusty hops and caramel smell. The flavour character is dominated by caramel, slightly roasted. Short-lived fruity bitterness on the swallow. Easy to drink. Food friendly (shared with Finn, 24.11.2015).

Cask conditioned at The Punch Bowl, Warwick. Copper with white head. This proved to be a heavily caramelised, toffeed beer, sweet, sticky, heavy. Bordering on poor.

On cask at Victoria Lounge Bar, Hanley. Pours copper with off white head. Looks the part, tasted like a pint of water. Stick to the Buxton Spring...
