Sweet fruity aroma, full and cakey, marmalade. Rich amber, brief head. Light grainy taste, bready, crusty, a bit husky. Light, a little watery, palate, but the beer is quite characterful. Finish has a zesty bitter tingle - nice!

In The Wall
Dark amber color, tiny white head. Dark fruits and caramel in the nose. Light-bodied. Light caramalt, but also dry maltyness. Barley grainy finish, light earthy hops. Uninteresting.
Abbeydale have achieved that increasingly rare feat in British breweing viz a superb best bitter. It is traditional in style but has a lovely sweet hoppy finish. An excellent session bitter of the old school. Finn (7547) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 4, 2015

Cask at Larkin’s Bar in Hull. Stable off-white head to a clear mahogany coloured body. Dusty hops and caramel smell. The flavour character is dominated by caramel, slightly roasted. Cask at the Norman warrior Lowestoft. Mid amber copper coloured pour with a lasting loose off white head. Aroma is brown bread, tangy apple, cinnamon. Flavour is composed of nutty, low caramel, apple, spicy hop. Dome sweet toffee. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation. Cask conditioned at The Punch Bowl, Warwick. Copper with white head. This proved to be a heavily caramelised, toffee’d beer, sweet, sticky, heavy. Bordering on poor.
