COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Finest quality pale malt carrying choicest west coast American hops to create a beautifully balanced pale ale. The aroma is fragrant, fruity. The flavours are mellow with hints of bubblegum and refreshing grapefruit. The finish is bittersweet, without being cloying.
This is consistently Abbeydale Brewery's biggest selling beer.
First brewed in 1996 it was designed as a premium pale bitter to show drinkers of a very big and old-established brewery's offering just what a beer could taste like... After a bit of name-calling and throwing of stones, it had no trouble in establishing a reputation as the genuine Sheffield Gold Beer. It is now available as a "regular" beer at a number of outlets in and around Sheffield.

Decent pale ale. Tastes bitter and sharp. Not much complexity but does its job!

Cask at the Devonshire Cat, Sheffield. When in Sheffield... drink one of the bestsellers. Mid-gold, clear with a big white head. Cereal, lemon, hay and slight astringency in the aroma. Clean bittersweet taste, a hint of soap. More bitterness in the citrusy finish. A good beer.

Cask. Pale yellow with white head. Aroma of citrus, mainly lemony. Taste matches with melon and grapfruit to the fore and biscuit malt n the background. Far in the background and although this golden ale slips down easily thats the main defect too little body. But at the end of a pleasing Sunday with Monday still hours away, it works.

Cask from the Lantern Pike, Little Hayfield, Derbyshire, 3.30/pint. Very pale yellow beer with smooth white head. Floral and citrus in a reasonably tempered aroma. Taste is mostly sweet with grapefruit coming through before a crisp, mid-dry finish. Pleasant but I prefer Belfry as a pale beer from this brewery.

BlackHaddock (6796) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 3, 2015
Cask pint in the Wolverhampton Wetherspoons on 28th Feb 2015. Straw blonde with a thin white head. Mild citrus aroma with a light malt lead in the taste which turns more dry and bitter as you get into it. Decent but really just another pale, golden citrusy brew which seem to be swamping the UK market currently.
