Cask; Regular.
Finest quality pale malt carrying choicest west coast American hops to create a beautifully balanced pale ale. The aroma is fragrant, fruity. The flavours are mellow with hints of bubblegum and refreshing grapefruit. The finish is bittersweet, without being cloying.
This is consistently Abbeydale Brewery's biggest selling beer.
First brewed in 1996 it was designed as a premium pale bitter to show drinkers of a very big and old-established brewery's offering just what a beer could taste like... After a bit of name-calling and throwing of stones, it had no trouble in establishing a reputation as the genuine Sheffield Gold Beer. It is now available as a "regular" beer at a number of outlets in and around Sheffield.

Cask at the Lion Inn, New Basford, Nottingham. A pale beer with a floral aroma, Moonshine has a dry, slightly grassy, citrus flavour. Its perfectly enjoyable without being as memorable as Absolution from the same brewery.

Cask at the Fox and Duck, Sheffield. Pours a pale gold with a tight, pillowy white head (thanks to the sparkler). Aroma is biscuity, citrus, and very light spicy hops. Flavors are biscuity, bready, citrus (grapefruit and lemon) and a little bubblegummy. Finishes dry.

Draft 281107. Fresh hoppy nose. Pours pale gold with a fluffy white head. The flavour is rich and fruity with some citrus and leads into a long hoppy finish. A great beer, and a worthy one for my 600th rating.

Cask. Pours a golden amber beer. nose is hoppy and fruity with notes of grapefruit. Taste is citrus with some floral elements. Not much malt here. Body is a bit thin for my tastes, overall a good effort to recreate an American style ale.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2010 Pint on tap in the Vine, Sheffield. Pale golden in appearance. Thin head. Mild flavour. Subtle hint of citrus fruit. Extremely easy to drink, little more flavour would be grand. August 2010. Clear and very pale golden yellow. Thin white head. Thin texture. Again extremely easy to drink. Citrus hop flavour. Lacks body. Would make a great session beer.

Cask at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn, Castleton, Derbyshire. Pours a clear pale gold with an average size lasting creamy white head. Somewhat mild aroma of resiny hops. Nice flavour of resiny hops, lightly spices and some citrus fruit. Medium bodied. Good stuff, I quite enjoyed this.

Cask, Turf Tavern. Shiny gold, thick luscious layer of frosting-dense white head. Fresh grass aroma, orange peel. Delicate, friendly. Tastes of gentle rose esters, very soft hops, very soft lemony malt. Nothing wrong with this, just soft to the point of being kind of vague.
