Dark mahogany beer with a short lived tan head. Sweet malt nose with a bit of dark roasted grains in the nose. Thick, rich mouth feel. Molasses and burnt caramel sweetness with some ash, burnt toast, overripe fruit, and a noticeable alcohol burn as it warms. Nice, rich porter.

In short: little sour dark ale.
Pours dark with nice light tan head. Moderate head retention, poor lacing. Roasty, licorice, caramel, litttle tart nose. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture. Taste is roasty, caramel, raisins, little lactic and creamy, a bit watered down.

(ABC Beers Haagse Harry Pogtah Bieah (Baltic Porter)) Backlog 18/10/15 at The Fiddler, Den Haag, bottle 330 ml. ABV 9.2% Dark brown colour on the body, seems totally black but the light doesn’t really help. One finger of thick, brown head on top, with good retention. Aroma has light roasted malts, coffee, ligt chocolate and the taste follows the aroma, with roasted malts, light coffee, chocolate, some fruity notes. Nicely bitter finish with well hidden alcohol. Medium thin body, carbonation on the high side. Pretty good.

Bottle looks like my mom designed it in MS Word basicly. Ugly as fuck, pixelated and horrible quality overall. I’m pretty amazed there isn’t any Comic Sans on the label. Beer’s pretty nice though. Roasty, hint of bourbon, coffee, chocolate. Smooth (unlike the label).

sjogro (5258) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 9, 2015
Tasting bij Mrk. Van de fles. Goeie smaak, beetje waterig en vrij veel koolzuur maar daardoor wel zacht en soepel mondgevoel. Backlog from 2015/03/19.
