A hopped up brown ale, sure makes it better than just a plain brown ale. Nutty hoppy aroma. Nice brown malt feel without to much roasted tastes. Good mouthfeel. I liked it.
Backlog. At Mi2 at Cardinal 25.03.13. Copper. Aroma of toffee and strawberries. Refreshing and balanced taste with malt, hops ans some citrus. Long and bitter aftertaste of American hops. Round mouthfeel and appropriately carbonated. On the bitter side. gunnfryd (14824) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 21, 2014

Pours clear reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, floral, coffee and hint of chocolate. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long roasted and coffee finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
On tap at Henriks. It’s an almost clear one, dark brown in color, and with a dense, beige head leaving lacings. Roasted aroma with nuts, bread and some grassy, piney hops. Roasted flavor with some chocolate and a nice hoppy bitterness. Full body, creamy on the palate. Roasted malts, coffee, hoppy bitterness and some chocolate in the end. Tasteful and nice, and easy drinkable. 140615 nilsas (4052) - Bryne, NORWAY - JUN 15, 2014
Fruktig duft, noe lakris og vanilje. Dyp sort farge. Tykt brunt skum. Fruktig smak med en anelse vanilje i ettersmalen. MartinT (9795) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 9, 2014
My Bottom Line:
Iodine and grassy bitterness subvert earthen roast and citrusy fruitiness in this puzzling India Brown Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy sheet of foam tops the dark brown.
-Don’t know if the upfront iodine character comes from an excessive use of peated malts, but if it doesn’t... then there’s a serious issue with this batch.
-Mild caramel is found under the roastiness.
-Mouthfeel is beautifully creamy and smooth.
On tap at Henrik Ol & Vinstove.
