Cask Conditioned handpump Old Joint Stock Birmingham. A mahogany coloured headless mild. The aroma has chocolatey notes with booziness or possibly oxidation. A thin dishwatery taste. A bit of fruit. Very average. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 31, 2010
Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Pumpclip said ’ABC Aston Mild’ and I’m fairly sure the ABV was 3.6%, so this could be a new, slightly different version. Very dark brown with a beige head. Oaty porage aroma. Sweet cotton wool taste with a little sourness, the whole effect resembling old style wood glue. Didn’t particularly like this. Cask conditioned at The Wellington, Birmingham 21/1/09. Deep chestnut brown with a decent tan head that left plenty of lacing. Sweet all round, with some milk chocolate, hints of cherry and a short, bitter finish. Easy drinking if not hugely memorable. imdownthepub (15384) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 21, 2008
Cask conditioned at The Wellington, Birmingham; Dark brown with tan head. probably brewed at Toll End but the beer is definitely being moved to the new brewery, so best it sits here. Rich fruity mild, surprisingly sweet in the finish, nutty and woody, really quite enjoyable if not totally in character.
