Turbodog is the inspiration for this robust dark ale. It is brewed with generous amounts of pale, caramel, and chocolate malts and Willamette hops. Whole natural vanilla beans are added during the aging process. This combination provides a rich body and color with chocolate, vanilla and toffee-like flavor.

25 years ago Abita Brewing was founded on a pristine artesian aquifer north of New Orleans. For a quarter of a century, Abita has proudly brewed full-flavored ales and lagers. We thank our loyal customers for their support and pledge to continue the tradition of brewing excellence.

Raisins, chocolate on a sort’ve generic porter nose.. creamy mouthfeel yielding vanilla, some chocolate, a little coffee, roasty tasting.. quite quaffable but never approaches eminence.

Mild roast aroma, with just a hint of vanilla. Pours a dark brown, with ruby highlights when held up to the light. There’s a nice full off-white head on the beer as well. Very mild flavor, starts with roasted notes, and a touch of sharpness. Finishes with that same touch of vanilla with roasty chocolate notes. Overall, this is a pretty well done beer, with the alcohol very well hidden.

22 oz. bottle from Total Wine - Pours a brown color with a one finger thick light tan head. Light lacing. Aroma is caramel malt with light chocolate and vanilla. Flavor is pretty much the same. Medium body. Worth a try.

Bottle. Very dark with thick head. Very quiet aroma with only a hint of anything; in this case a hint of cold embers. Flavour is screaming bitter vanilla. Bitter chocolate, muddy malt and vanilla. Not my cup of beer.

Bomber. Pours a dark brown with a medium frothy light beige head that leaves sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is caramel and raisin. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt with chocolate and light roast. Easy to drink a good American strong ale from Abita.

blipp (9278) - La Mesa, California, USA - NOV 4, 2011
Bottle. Pours deep brown with an off white head. Sweet vanilla aroma, with light roasted malts, caramel, and milk chocolate. The flavor has vanilla and milk chocolate, with some toffee-like notes and very light roasted malts. Decent.

alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - NOV 4, 2011
Bottle; poured a dark brown/black color with a large khaki head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, veggies, a bit of cocoa; Flavor was in line with there others; quite bland despite some hints at mellow notes right below the surface. A bit of caramel, vanilla and veggies. Good for them, but really not great.

dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - NOV 4, 2011
750ml bottle poured into glass. Dark color with a thin beige head. Flavor and aroma has a good vanilla presence. It may be a little too sweet to finish the whole bottle but it makes for a good sipping beer on a chilly night.

Errl (2442) - Plano, Texas, USA - NOV 4, 2011
Purchased a Bomber from World Market..Pours a Very dark Amber With quite a bit of lacing,Aroma was light with hints of chocolate, Taste was a little flat, But it got better as it warmed up in the glass, Hints of Chocolate and Caramel and Vanilla.. So overall it was better toward the end of my glass, I might try it again later down the road.

22oz bottle. Poured a murky brown/dark-red color, strange off-white head, a bit chunky? I dunno. Anyway, aroma was a bit vanilla. Well, flavor was weak vanilla, roasted brown ale-style malts. Meh.
