Draft. Deep black color. Vanilla, malt and chocolate. Very sweet with a boozy after bites. I'm glad I tried it. Happy maradi gras

Draft to taster. Looks solid; cola with foamy light beige head that slowly dissipates into lacing. Smells of chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and roasted malt. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Good beer. BVery (11458) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - FEB 11, 2013
Tap. Murky reddish brown pour. Vanilla comes pouring out of this one - aroma and flavor. Very tasty. Medium density palate. Overml01 (227) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - FEB 10, 2013
Wow, very sessionable for an "american strong." The mouthfeel is actually pretty creamy and enjoyable. A decent bit of vanilla but certaintly not a slap in the face. For a beer that’s basically an imperial abita turbodog with a hint of vanilla. dnstone (3700) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - FEB 9, 2013
Nice deep brown in color with an off-white head. Aroma is very much like a tootsie roll. Chocolatey taste (tootsie roll-esque) with some vanilla in the finish. A niceroasty ale but not my preference.

Pours a slightly misty brown/burnt orange, with fingers of off-white head. Smell is of grainy dough, well defined caramel malts, with slight notes of vanilla and even some red fruits. Taste starts with grainy wheat, and unsweetened vanilla, with light notes of bitter toffee on the finish - very subtle English hops (although the hops therein are technically American). Mouthfeel is medium. Hikeoflife (3) - - JAN 29, 2013 does not count

Another great beer from Abita. Bit to much vanilla; well balanced. A favorite.

22 oz Bottle. Pours amber in color with a white head. Notes of chocolate, oak, caramel, spicey hops. Really good. Ibrew2or3 (8913) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JAN 4, 2013
22oz bomber pours mahogany colored body that supports a mocha head of foam. The mild aroma has light notes of dark roasted malts, vanilla and then a touch of earthiness. The taste has some roasted malts mixing with vanilla and then earthy to slight pine hop like notes. Underneath those I get a light sweet dark fruity ester like quality.
