Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe in Davis, CA. Pours very dark brown/black with a 3 finger foamy tan head. Aroma of dark not quite burnt malt with som chocolate and vanilla. Near med body. The vanilla and chocolate are pretty much dominant. Some roast malt follows, and there must be some hop in here, but other than some bitterness its hard to pin down. This is a very unusual beer. Like BA without the bourbon. Like stout without body. Damn drinkable tho.

Bomber. Pours a dark brown with a medium frothy light beige head that leaves sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is caramel and raisin. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt with chocolate and light roast. Easy to drink a good American strong ale from Abita.
