Another great beer from Abita. Bit to much vanilla; well balanced. A favorite.

vanilla, caramel, chocolate, coffee, black, hazy, minimal head, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour, full body, thick feel, average carbonation, TheCrowsNest (76) - Redondo Beach, California, USA - DEC 20, 2012
Dark brown with a tan head that drops quickly. Aromas of chocolate shavings, hints of roasted coffee, slight compliment of vanilla. Flavors of creamy chocolate ice cream mixed with vanilla, slight hop bitterness. Slick, coating mouthfeel. Arborescence (29) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - FEB 11, 2012
Black, almost completely opaque. Pours a thick, creamy head.
Cream, vanilla, just a hint of malt and alcohol.
Round and soft, rather light. The vanilla beans dominate this beer, making it creamy and smooth, with just a touch of the underlying malt and alcohol present.
A 25th anniversary special edition by this New Orleans based brewery, this beer is supposed to be something different, and I guess it is — but I have not had the original Abita Turbodog that this beer is based on, nor any other Abita beers, so I can’t compare (yet!). Anyway, I like how smooth the beer is, and it’s not quite like anything I’ve had before. The whole vanilla beans that are added during the ageing process are obviously the source of all this. Certainly an interesting idea! DMLINAZ (335) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Rich, complex, and malty, with small bubbles and a small head, this beer is surprisingly good. Good aroma, quality consistency, thick and rich.

Poured from the tap into a pint glass at the Distillery Bar in Savannah, GA. The appearance is a dark brown color with a thick medium sized white head. The aroma is malt with a giant dose of vanilla. The taste mirrors the aroma. An excellent beer from Abita. Cybercat (5962) - Georgia, USA - OCT 12, 2011
Malty aroma has a note of caramel plus hints of vanilla and unsweet chocolate. It pours a barely translucent chocolate brown with a fairly thick light tan head that leaves some good lacing. Mouth filling flavor has a malty core plus notes of caramel and chocolate and hints of wood, vanilla and toffee. Smooth, heavy-bodied texture has a good fizz that imparts a long-lasting tingle to the finish. Bone211 (7) - - FEB 16, 2012 does not count
Nice sweet malty flavor with a light vanilla note. Great sipper and finish. Medium tan head with very mild carnation.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle, this brew is a dark coffee color with a three finger tan colored head. The aroma of vanilla and chocolate is prevalent. This beer is smooth with just the right amount of vanilla, caramel, and chocolate, with just a hint of sweetness. Perfect paired with a dessert or smooth enough to enjoy by itself. This is one of Abitas best offerings in my opinion. MorganBaughman (147) - Long Beach, Mississippi, USA - JUL 14, 2012
You can definitely smell the toffee in this beer just before you sip it. It’s delicious going down, and it leaves a vanilla flavor on your tongue.
