Tasted this in New York on the 19th September 2015. Pours clear amber in colour with a white head. Thin mouthfeel and decent lacing. Short malt present in the light aroma. Robust malty backbone with hints of caramel malt. Short bitter aftertaste. Malt in the finish. Nothing special.

From the bottle the beer pours a caramel color with a nice head. Aroma of nuts, toasted malt and caramel. Taste has some caramel, bread and a mild sweetness to it. Very average beer.

Well-made Munich lager out of Louisiana. Not especially exciting, but Im surprised it rates as low for the style when its so clean and well executed. Nice-looking - colour as advertised, good head retention. Mild, mildly underwhelming aroma of sweet malts. Very clean both in aroma and on the tongue. Low bitterness. Hay, faint caramel, vanilla, bread. Lovely creamy carbonation. Can imagine sinking a few of these on a steamy day on the bayou. (355ml bottle from Carrington Cellars, Leura)

12 oz. bottle from Liquor Barn (Middletown Commons). Aroma: Lean caramel, brown sugar, light bready spice. Appearance: Pours a rich copper with average carbonation holding up a foamy bone head; the head settles into a patchy skin. Flavor: Malts up front are subtle; a little caramelized bready malt sweetness comes in midway through; the finish has a notable spicy hop character. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Like Abita Bock, its a sort of poor mans take on the style, but its also somewhat charming as a result. Would drink again if offered.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - amber with a nice lacy head. Nose - toffee, light fudge even, but with a fresh fruitiness too. Taste - light toffee with a citrus tang on the finish. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - does the job.
