2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
DATE: May 30, 2017... OCCASION: finishing the last night in NOLA, to the tune of The Doors and a thunderstorm... GLASSWARE: Abita pint, just purchased today...poured way before it’s best-by date of 9/28... a nice, orange-amber body frames reasonable carbonation...a frothy head settles to a thin, maybe quarter-finger of swampy bubbles... caramel, soft resin, light flowers and some funk that suggests a flatter profile... palate isn’t far from a Yuengling, with just a bit more carbonation... sifts through the mouth swiftly and lingers only briefly in the throat... caramel and medicinal bitterness bite back... a beefy biscuit is left to be chewed... sweet sugars make up the bulk of this lager, and though it is inextricably linked with New Orleans, I find it easy to like but nearly as lively or diverse as New Orleans has been the past three days... drinkable, unassuming at 4.5%, and a fun label to take in... still looking for that first Abita that takes me by surprise...
12 oz bottle into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip on 4th Jan 2018 at my daughters in California. Bright amber body, clean and clear, full head of white foam on top. Light malty nose and taste, watery body wise and fairly bland in flavour. Expected and wanted more from this beer, which is a rare rate from Louisiana for me. Perfectly serviceable, middle-of-the-road amber. A bit on the sweet/toasty side. edgallow (4689) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 28, 2017
12 oz bottle pours amber with a off white head. Aroma of toasted malts, crackers and a hint of pine. Taste is malts and some pine FROTHINGSLOSH (8362) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 11, 2017
Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a honey amber color with a large foamy orange tan head that lingered and left minimal lacing. The aroma was yeasty, tangy and a bit off. The flavor was tangy and sweet with caramel and bread. Long finish. Medium body. Meh. nohopspleez (91) - Georgia, USA - OCT 31, 2017
Decent beer taste with a good flavor. Not bad for a USA beer. Not too much in hops, which is a good start for a USA beer.

Bottle. It poured an amber color with a white head. The aroma was of caramel, bread and malts. The taste was similar to the aroma with more caramel, bread, malts and a touch of hops. It had a medium body with mild carbonation and a sweet aftertaste. Not bad. PugUglyBrewer (886) - - SEP 2, 2017
Hazy, light amber color with a thin head of semi-creamy offwhite colored foam. Caramel and raisin notes on the aroma. More caramel and some toffee on the taste with a subtle floral hop character going on. drjay44 (3925) - Salida, Colorado, USA - AUG 19, 2017
draft. Pours a medium, poorly retained off white head, over a clear dark amber (SRM 11) body.....nose is toasted malts with melanoidin, no cocoa, minimal hops, no eaters......taste is toasted malts with cracker and toasted bread tones, no caramel, no eaters, dry throughout, slight hop spice, finishing with moderate bitterness........mouth feel, medium light body, no alcohol high carbonation. This is a very clean, lightly toasted beer, nicely balanced between malts and hops, but overall simple in aroma and taste. It is an easy drinking summer beer. UPDATED: AUG 19, 2017 First beer I had outside of bud light, Budweiser, etc.. goes great with Louisiana and as a Louisiana native I love our breweries! brownaler (751) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - AUG 8, 2017
Slightly bready malts with a watery aftertaste. Nothing impressive on the flavor front but nothing really offensive.
