2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a copper color, some head. Aroma is mostly malt, some hops. Flavor is very bitter from start to finish, not much else going on. Palate feels thin. Overall it’s okay.
draft. Pours a medium, poorly retained off white head, over a clear dark amber (SRM 11) body.....nose is toasted malts with melanoidin, no cocoa, minimal hops, no eaters......taste is toasted malts with cracker and toasted bread tones, no caramel, no eaters, dry throughout, slight hop spice, finishing with moderate bitterness........mouth feel, medium light body, no alcohol high carbonation. This is a very clean, lightly toasted beer, nicely balanced between malts and hops, but overall simple in aroma and taste. It is an easy drinking summer beer. Slightly bready malts with a watery aftertaste. Nothing impressive on the flavor front but nothing really offensive. HopsGuru68 (1) - - JUL 20, 2017 does not count
It might not be the hottest beer style, but, this is one of the best Ambers out there tomer (3582) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - JUL 17, 2017
Shared at a tasting, small bubbly creamy head, clear dark orange color, aroma of candy, stewed fruit, caramel and cakey maltiness, light caramel flavor with some stewed fruits, dry and a bit sour. Drinkable but a bit bland.

Pretty solid Amber. You can taste a little more spice than a usual Amber. It's good though. Nothing special, however.

I was expecting an amber ale, not an amber lager, and was generally disappointed with the results. There were some nice honey, nougat and caramel aromas, but the palate was thin and the taste dominated by raw grains and a fairly unpleasant LaserDave (15) - - JUN 18, 2017
Abita Amber is a Munich style lager brewed with crystal malt and Perle hops. It has a smooth, malty, slightly caramel flavor and a rich amber color. ABV at some point from 5% to 4.5%.
