COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Andygator, a creature of the swamp, is a unique, high-gravity brew made with pale malt, German lager yeast, and German Perle hops. Unlike other high-gravity brews, Andygator is fermented to a dry finish with a slightly sweet flavor and subtle fruit aroma. Reaching an alcohol strength of 8% by volume, it is a Helles Doppelbock.

Pours a nice golden color with a nice white head that fades quickly. Aroma is a nice citrus hop. Taste is not as hoppy as it smells and has a finish that lingers with you but not in a bad way ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At a tasting, thanks, smallish creamy head, cloudy deep orange color with yellowish hues, malty, nutty, vanila aroma, sweet malty and alcoholic. Not too exciting.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom Ls place. Thanks Stas. Clear golden. Aroma of malt, honey, caramel, a bit of alcohol. Sweet flavor, honey-ish, caramelly, alcoholic. Too sweet and boozy.

355ml bottle as a gift from Louisiana:
Quite a disappointing offering overall, the beer seemed quite ordinary & definitely wasnt what I was expecting, especially given it was the last of the American import beers I had to try from over the summer. There wasnt too much variety to the beer either, beyond the sweetness some pale malts & typical lager type flavours featured alongside an earthy middle & some toasted touches nearer the end; I cant say this is one Im likely to have again Im afraid.

Sample at GABF 2016. Medium high white fluffy lasting head. Clear yellow golden body. Mild and weak malt straw slightly fruity aroma. Very sweet fruity honey flavor with a solid malt base. Alcohol can be spottet. Little hops bitterness, low carbonation, long sweet finish.

Hefty Helles. Malty, sweet, and little bit chewy. Decent bitevthat helped cut the maltiness. Okay.

De geur is lekker fris. De kleur donkerblond. Weinig schuim als je hem uitschenkt. De smaak redelijk bitter. Maar valt al bij al goed mee.

Brown American bottle. Pours pale yellow orange with a thin white foam subsiding quick. Scent is very sweet malt and pale lager hints. Taste is light caramel, light orange peel, light resin. Wood. Sugar. Finish is lager. Very good.
