On tap at Maras Homemade. Amber in color with no head. Malty caramel toffee aroma. Caramel malty flavor. Spicy clove notes. Finish is dry. Thin. Ok. jetzler (622) - oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA - DEC 29, 2007
Bottle, pours a nice clear amber color, with an ok head. Light malts slight toffee nothing major. Once again Abita has managed to produce another bland and watery brew, these guys must pride themselves on their local water supply because most of their brews focus on water. Pours a clear, deep, orange-brown with a frothy beige head that leaves wispy lace in its wake, diminishing to a thin, creamy cap. The nose is fairly muted: a tad phenolic with a malty front and lesser notes of mulling spices (cloves, cinnamon, etc.). Light-bodied and slick with a dry and fairly astringent finish. The flavor is of a nutty, bitter front with lesser emphasis on the malt & spice found on the nose. Fairly disjointed, this one just doesn’t do a lot for me. There are a LOT of better Christmas brews out there, and unless you’re compelled to tick-off another rating, I’d recommend skipping this one. Bottle sampled. Pours amber in color with a small off-white head. Faint malty aroma with light caramel, and a hint of some spices. Flavor was bland and light bodied with sweet malts, caramel, and some notes of spice puggy211 (712) - cordova, Tennessee, USA - DEC 21, 2007

Bottle @ Coles Buffalo NY. Pours deep amber color. Decent medium to full body. Caramel & Roasted malts in the nose. Taste a little more of the same but not too favorful. Not really sure why this a Christmas beer but maybe Christmas is different in the Bayou than in NY aubreya (676) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - DEC 18, 2007
Thanks lb4lb. The color was crisp amber. The head was creamy, thn, and off-white. The aroma was rotten eggs, salt, and a slight metalic smell. The flavor was bland and a little metalic. The palate was average. The finish was clean. emacgee (4705) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - DEC 18, 2007
lb4lb sent me this as an extra. Pours a murky soft amber with a one finger fizzy off white head. The aroma is a little off putting, some spice is noticeable, grassy, not very good at all. The flavor is definitely grassy, a little sour, some spice, really carbonated, thin palate. Crappy beer. mmmbeer (1429) - Austin, Texas, USA - DEC 18, 2007
2007 ed. 12 oz bottle poured into pint glass- poured semi transparent darken amber, foamy off white head that slowly sank, aroma of lightly roasted malt. Hits the mouth with a thin body, extremely light malt and caramel defined, finish tails off with slight hop note. Was expecting something great from the appearance, but was let down. charcot25 (181) - Cordova, Tennessee, USA - DEC 16, 2007
Got minimal aroma from this dark brown beer. Has a sweet, caramel/malt and light chocolate flavor balanced by citrusy American hops. A vague hint of spices present. Watery finish. This one was a disappointment.
