had this beer in new orleans and it was not real good at all. no real flavor. i didn’t even relize it was a fruit beer. Lou18 (1353) - West Paterson, New Jersey, USA - JUN 17, 2005
This smelled like berries, but no taste. This was lacking all around. There was nothing compelling , and, I was disappointed. theshocker (329) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JUN 15, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 17, 2005 Pours cloudy with a light purple tint which makes me think this will tastle like delicious raspberriess. Smells like...surprise: sweet raspberries. Tastes almost nothing like raspberries. Boring American wheat beer flavor. No hops, light malt and grain. I suspect its their "pristine artesian waters" but every Albita I’ve tried, especially this one, leaves me with a bad chemical aftertaste. This is the last Abita I’ll buy. biz82 (1327) - austin, Texas, USA - JUN 13, 2005
Pink amber with not much of a white head. Toasted caramel raspberry aroma. Thin in body but with a nice spritzy mouth feel. A little tart with not much raspberry flavor. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 12, 2005
UPDATED: SEP 22, 2007 On tap at Poes in South Carloina...Pours pink and very cloudy. Doesnt taste like raspberries maybe a more grapefruit taste than anything. Not too much head or lacing. An enjoyable fruit beer.

Bottle. Poured a cloudy orange with no head. Aromas were minimal, but some raspberry and floral notes were there. Flavor was far less fruity than I expected, really not much there. Not quite a drainpour but close. Kevin (2199) - Montana, USA - MAY 29, 2005
bottle. pours a pink orange that looks a lot like something i vomited up after a marathon goldschlager night about 11 years ago. whitish head that remains around the edge of my snifter. rough sour grain aroma that is rather chemical like with a tartness that is probably due to the raspberries. taste is a watered down vitamin c and some grainy flavor. leaves an oily tinge on my tongue. tastes like paint remover smells, ok that might be a bit of an overstatement, it tastes like watered down paint remover smells. not a good example of a fruit beer, not a good beer even. acidic on the tongue. this tastes bad and feels bad. i guess that means this is bad. all that being said i am still able to finish this beer. jefcon (1847) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - MAY 26, 2005
Hmmm. Another fruit beer -- this one has been around a while, too. Doesn’t appear that different from a pale lager in the glass. Aroma is convincingly of raspberries, and these smell fresh, as opposed to the syrupy nature of some fruit brews. Also some grains and mustiness. Taste is less pleasing, bright raspberries are in there, but the wheat and the beer taste stale. I miss hops when I drink this. almostfrozen (26) - USA - MAY 20, 2005
Considering the rasperry flavour is added after brewing I would expect it to be frutier than it is. Not foul but I can’t think why I would buy this beer again.
