Received as a part of the Confederate BIF from BigLove, this beer came is a brown 12 oz. bottle with a psychedelic label. The beer looked cloudy, and fizzy. The head was foamy and left some average lace. The aroma did not emphasize fruit, but instead this smelled more like a yeasty wheat ale with some sour mash. The taste was light with raspberry flavor coming through in a very subtle way. Unfortunately the malt base backing the fruit was very bland and flavorless, which was all the more surprising since the body was not too thin. Hardly any hop presence. I had seen this beer for a while on the shelves and had been avoiding it, since I am not a big fan of fruit beers. This one is not awful, but it wont change my opinion about the style.

I knew better of coures, but couldnt help myself. Pours a hazy off gold with a dirtyish purple tinge. Seriously - aroma of dishwater and diarrhea. It took some courage to taste but it turns out it wasnt too scary. Actually, if not for the lightest hint of metal and raspberries, this would be utterly flavorless. Of course, neither the metallic notes nor the weak hint of raspberry were especially pleasant. Fizzy. Down the drain it went.

What the hell, this one has nothing to offer the drinker. If I was trying to get my womean drunk on beer this is the one I would treat her too. No alcohol taste, now smell, no taste at all but water with a spritz of Raspberry.

Simply horrible. What happened here. This beer is just so fruity that it is impossible to taste wheat, malt, hops, or even water.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2005 Of all the fruity winter beers that actually have a true fruit taste and not just a hint of fruit, this one is the most quaffable. Not bad.

A nice compliment to their profile but certainly not the best beer they brew, if indeed you could call it a beer.

On tap at Barleys Taphouse in Asheville, NC. Sweet raspberry aroma. Golden pour with frothy white head. Flavor gives away that this is most certainly doped with a chemical raspberry extract. Strange chemical breakdown aftertaste remains on the tongue. I cant crucify this beer because I just dont appreciate the style of fruit weizens.

This beer is horrible. It tastes like Michelob Ultra with rasberry syrup added.

OK, more refreshing than Evian. Surprisingly light. I can recognize some wheat, hard to find the berry, but some fruit that at first I thought represented excessive floral hopping. Not much bitterness or lasting impressions of any kind. No head. Yeah, lame is a good word.
