Bottle, stable quite dense bubbly head, cloudy deep pink to light red color, enticing aroma of fresh raspberries, same raspberries in the flavor with wood and cardbord. Nice but quite simple.

Fat @ Beer Sellar, Nashville. Dimmigt rödgul med ett medelstort vitt skum. Dofter av viol och örter. Smakinslag av viol, smultron, gräs och örter. Torr munkänsla. Väldigt abrupt och kort avslutning.

Draught at Frankie’s Pizza, Sydney, on October 17, 2015.
Golden color, white head. Raspberry taste, sweet, fresh. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Raspberry aftertaste. Fresh, raspberry, fruity scent.

Into a snifter chilled. Headless once settled; a hazy peach in colour with intermittent, minute carbonation giving the impression of a still beer. Aroma is strangely more of strawberry conserve than raspberries, with little else coming through. Thin, watery palate with a carbonic acid bite that’s marring. Light raspberry flavour is quite drabby and flows into the swallow. Light wheat, light toothpick linger. Not much here. Bland! (35,5cL, BB 18/11/15, Luckies Liquor, East Vic. Park)

For a fruit accented beer this is a pretty good one. has a strong scent of raspberries the flavor is less obvious, only minor raspberry undertones, with tastes of other fresh fruit and a bit of sweetness. this is light and sweet, refreshing. finishes quickly. There is very little head but an obvious amount of carbonation.

Abita’s Purple Haze is something of a craft classic. It’s got a fairly strong following and is one of the better-known brews made by Abita. Sadly, it and I didn’t work well together. Not even the Hendrix-inspired name could win me over. Appearance is okay. There’s a purple-ish tint and very little head. Aroma reveals cereal malt and raspberry. Same with the flavor. While I can understand why lots of people like this one, it didn’t have much for me.

Surprised I haven’t rated this before! Most recently drank out of a bottle at the annual DanaFest! Has a lovely fruity aroma with slight maltiness. A wonderful refreshing, crisp taste. A great summertime brew!!

Overall tasty, very drinkable on a warm day. Clean finish, and a strong citrus character.
