Very dark reddish-brown with a thick tan head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma of cold coffee, chocolate, and malt. Thin palate. Some hops and bitter chocolate up front and finishes clean with some sweet chocolate malt notes. Good beer.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2017 Draft from LGA airport. Brown body, not much head. Light, but still very full and crisp. Enjoyed!

12 oz bottle pours a ruby brown color with moderate beige head and some lacing. Aroma is toffee, roasted malts, and dog biscuits. Taste is sweet and malty. Body is medium with a creamy mouthfeel and average carbonation. Ho hum.

12floz bottle, $1.50 unit price, BBD: 08.13.2017. Poured in a rinsed nonic glass. It’s brown with bright red hues and a solid head. The appearance is good, the aroma is what I remember from a decade ago, molasses and dry dog food. Tastes better than it it smells. A roasty, toffee brown ale heavy on the malts, but flat on the palate. So-so for a brown ale, good enough is not always enough.

Bottle from Lupe Pinto. Appearance - black olive sheen. Lovely off white head. Nose - honeycomb and chocolate. A dark chocolate Crunchie bar. Taste - caramel and chocolate with a biscuit back drop. Dry malty finish. Palate - close to medium bodied with a crunchy texture. Dry finish. Overall - decent.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours dark brown with an olive sheen and thick beige head. Aromas of dark chocolate, honeycomb. Taste is more chocolate, honeycomb, faint spice. Clean finish.

Color marrone con riflessi ramati. Naso quasi inesistente e palato con eccesso di caramello e malti torrefatti. Poco equilibrio

Roast nuts and caramel aromas drift up from a dark brown ale. Nice sweet taste. Consumed alongside shrimp, andouille and chicken jambalaya at Maxie’s Southern Comfort in Milwaukee. Delicious all around.

I’M YOUR TURBO LOVER! TELL ME THERE’S NO OTHER! Perfectly sums up this beer.

Poured from a bottle, Texarkana. Malty aroma that smells a bit sour, not in a good way. It really does smell a bit like a wet dog. Taste isn’t much better. I don’t care for the look of it, either. It tastes and smells like it was made from real, quality beer-making ingredients -- not rice or corn -- but that’s all I really have to say that is nice about this beer. The mouthfeel is good and the aftertaste isn’t bad. I actually haven’t had many brown ales so maybe this isn’t my style. I dislike Newcastle.

Brownish ruby appearance, nice aroma, light/medium hops flavor. A decent enough beer, although I drank it from a bottle that wasn’t properly stored and not fresh. Not bad, but really nothing noteworthy.
