COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial stout with vanilla, coconut, and coffee.

"During your life, never stop dreaming. No one can take away your dreams." - Tupac Shakur

Back in April 2015 Illest got us, Mostra Coffee, and J. Wakefield Brewing to collaborate on a beer in Miami which went on to become "Big Poppa".

A year later we decided to brew the beer again but on both coasts. "Makaveli" is the West Coast spin on our original collaboration, using coconut, real vanilla beans, and a custom blend of coffee beans roasted by Mostra Coffee. This beer is made to drink fresh so grab some friends and enjoy this bottle alongside good company.

500 ml bottle from vujuice - thanks again, Don! Pours a deep, dark chocolate brown with amber edges and almost no head to speak of. Notes of marshmallow, vanilla, cocoa and coffee beans, oak, toasted coconut, fudge, mild roasted malts, and some boozy warmth. Medium-full bodied, with modest carbonation and a sweet, sticky, chewy, boozy mouthfeel. This drinks bigger than its 10.8% ABV. I could see it being a beast in barrels. Have they aged it? I don't know a lot about these guys yet.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma is a bit odd with neither coffee, coconut or vanilla being prevalent. Lots of chocolate with some lighter roast notes. The adjuncts I guess are more vanilla forward with less coffee. Light alcohol spice. Pours black with a small, thick, mocha head that recedes to a thin film that linger son the edge. No lacing and moderate legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with a lot of chocolate notes and a bit of fudge. Light roast notes. Some light vanilla and lighter coconut. Coffee is very light. Moderate bitterness. Light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium full to full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer. I like that the adjuncts are not super forward and well balanced. Very chocolate forward with fudge notes.
