Bottled. Honeyish golden colour, huge white head. Corn, soap, metal and some malts and alcohol in aroma. Flavour is soap, corn, some malts and alcohol. Lots of metal. Very horrible beer. Not recommended to anyone. First I thought my glass was soapy or something, but a direct sniff and taste from bottle had the same problems. The appearance was the only thing that could be considered positive.

Bottled (BB 11/2007)
Clear honey golden color, decent white head. Sweetcorn aroma with hints of metal and malt. Sweet corn malty flavor too, acidic with grainy aftertaste. Alcohol is subdued in the start, but comes up in the aftertaste leaving dry mouthfeel. Raw, sweetish and unbalanced malt liquer.

(Bottled) Clear golden color with a small, fading head. Mild aroma of slightly sweet and acidic, corny malt, metal, and surprisingly well hidden alcohol. Corny-grainy-malty, mildly grassy-hoppy flavor with an acidic finish and some alcohol burn. Almost medium-bodied palate with slightly fizzy carbonation. As it warms up, the alcohol becomes more pronounced. Yes, this is crap - yet somehow it manages to hide the alcohol quite well, without being too sweet.

(50 cl can from Systembolaget) Clear golden color, medium size white head. Scent is milk, malt and alcohol. Taste is mostly sweet alcohol, some alcohol bitterness in the finish. Sickening mouthfeel, low hops bitterness. No thanks.

Can. A golden beer with a huge fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of grain, alcohol, and brewing cereal. The flavor is very sweet with notes of alcohol, brewing cereal, malt, and metal, leading to a dry alcholic end. What can I say: European Strong Lager - it’s not my thing.

Golden colored, fastly vanishing head. Sweetness, honey, lemon and mild alcohol in aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor has medium alcohol with tangy sweetness and lemon, esters also there. Somehow dry aftertaste.

Canned. Golden coloured. Sweetish bready aroma. Sweet malty flavour with some fruitiness and notes of alcohol. Another very good strong lager from Åbro.

From can poured in glass: yellow with lasting white head. Aroma is nothing special, just a little sweet. Taste is also sweet with a stinging senseation of alcohol. I guess there was some malt in there as well. We bought this version of Småland out of mistake and even though it wasn’t completely horrible it wasn’t that great either.

Quite nice golden color with a white head. Sweet aroma with some alcohol. Flavor is no fresh at all and with too much alcohol. This is so disappoiting since I liked the 5,2-version of this beer. But it seems Åbro and some other brewiries alwways have to go for alcohol so much more than flavor...
