Tap in de Achelse Kluis. Helder colakleurig, bijna witte kraag. Vrij waterig bier, vleugje caramel mout en een klein bittertje. Blond is beter.

Op de tap bij trappistrij achel. Mooi donker van kleur met een matige schuimkop. Licht hoppig met een waterige nasmaak. Al met al wel een lekker biertje om op een warme dag Door te drinken

On draught at the Achel Cafe on a Podge Beer Tour. Red-brown with a fair head. Smooth and lightly malty, a bit of a mild, English-style. Pales in comparison to the Achel 8 Bruin.

Light hazy brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits, brown sugar, caramel, sweet malts with some toasted tones. Light spicy. Sweet malty flavour, light hops, light fruitiness. Caramel. Finish caramel, candy sugar, toast and dark fruits.
(Draught @ Achelse Kluis)

Hint of raisin in the nose. Nice reddish brown color. Trappist yeast dominates the flavor. Slightly bitter finish. A refreshing beer on a warm day at the abbey.

Countbeer (6591) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - MAY 21, 2012
Draught: Medium creamy to light tan head, disappears slowly, on top of a cloudy to hazy brown colored beer. Smell sweets, darker druits, caramel, toasted barley malts, some spices and herby malts. Taste is a mix of hop bitter with some sweets from sugars and darker fruits, there are some spices, caramel, herbs, grains, yeast, some malts, barley malts and there is a hint of something light liquorice in the far distance. Aftertaste is sweet bitter with a touch of grainy malts and darker fruits. Low to medium carbo, soft yet light spicy mouthfeel, medium body and a light creamy texture.

Koelschtrinker (20591) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - DEC 18, 2011
Dunkler, herb-bitterer Antrunk, eher wenig aromatisch. Das Malz ist geringfügig röstig, ebenso die Hefigkeit. Wässrig-bitterer Abgang mit wenig Malzeinfluss. 10/7/9/7//7
