UPDATED: OCT 21, 2017 Dejlig belgisk øl. Balance mellem det bitre, det søde og smagen af gær og malt. KevinReddirt (210) - Midland, Texas, USA - OCT 14, 2017
At times one is fortunate, located Achel 8 Bruin in Santa Fe with a number of other hard to find beers. My Rochefort Trappistes glass receives half of the 11.2 oz bottle. It serves up a dark amber-brown liquid and an eggshell white head with steady carbonation. The nose is rather pleasant, yeast, spun sugar, grain. A sip delivers yellow fruit, yeast again, bread, green apple and an unexpected lingering bitterness. A great, late afternoon treat. Now for that other half. DonGregorio (516) - POLAND - SEP 26, 2017
Bottle. Unclear red to copper colour, rocky tan head. Aroma of cherries, dried fruits, caramel and some nuts. Taste is medium- sweet and light+ bitter, of raisins, cherries, dried fruits, caramel, apples, nuts, light vinous. Medium body and carbonation, dried fruits in the finish. Very nice. higgsbison (261) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 20, 2017
April/2016 Strong brown ale. An excellent brew. I would pass over it in the future for my favorite quads. But if you found it on tap somewhere it would be a treat. Nice Belgium Yeast presence, malty, cherry and plum. Nicely balanced bitter sour aftertaste. An awesome brew. I can't wait to try their quad

Achel 8 Bruin pours a dark brown color with a creamy beige head with stunningly beautiful lacing. It is the most beautiful and long-lived head I’ve ever seen. The nose consists of notes of caramel, brown sugar, banana, anise, prunes, and dark fruits. The attack has notes of semi sweet caramel, honey, dark biscuits, followed by a yeast-forward mid-palate with notes of dough, banana, and cloves that all combine harmoniously with the malts and subtle hops while the alcohol barely shines through. The carbonation is lively, the texture smooth and creamy. The finish is long, leaving gentle bitterness and some acidity behind. Excellent brew. JaKeAFC (1266) - ITALY - AUG 27, 2017
Bottle at botteltje oostend. Brown color, hazed, creamy beige head, persistent. Candy sugar and caramel with red fruit and berries esters, brandy, whisky and intense woody and earthy notes provided by the yeast, providing a spiced and warning tone. Taste is sweet, syrupy, light bitterness comes after but more on the solvent side. Body is medium to full, average carbonation, creamy texture. Finish fairly aromatic on fuel notes. I’d call this a dubbel. Very sweet and good for desserts and winter time. geolgau (418) - Cluj-Napoca, ROMANIA - AUG 22, 2017
Aroma is fresh and nice, with notes of belgian yeast, brown sugar and caramel, caramelized walnuts, figs and dates. Medium-full bodied with a healthy dose of carbonation. Taste is sweet, malty and nutty. Date jam, spicy yeast, huge malt backbone, all finished by a nice earthy bitterness. Easy to drink and good. ciocanelu (2858) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - AUG 21, 2017
Clear copper color with beige head. Aroma has toasted malt, candi sugar, a touch of dried fruits and some booze. Taste starts sweet with some dried fruits like raisins and dates, light bitterness on the finish. Quite clean, not too yeasty, really dry on the finish with some alcohol warmth. Light body, high effervescence. A well made, clean yet tasty dubbel. MasadaChee (5) - BELGIUM - AUG 6, 2017 does not count
Slight chocolate aroma, beautiful deep brown/red colour with off-white head. Good fulness, carbonation pushes flavours around, caramelly bread.
