Bottle. Dark Reddish Brown in colour. Very malty, toasty malts, caramel, toffee. Very fruity, dried fruits, plums, raisins. Yeasty and Spicy. Rather sweet. Dryish bittersweet finish. (2008)

Barwa ciemno brązowa z rubinowymi refleksami. Dość gruba, beżowa piana. Zbudowana z drobnych pęcherzyków. Aromat trochę mało wyraźny, można się jednak doszukać ciemnych, czerwonych owoców, delikatnych akcentów palonych i minimalnych nut alkoholowych. W smaku dominuje goryczka, sucha, palona, nieco wytrawna. Dalej delikatne nuty od ciemnych słodów, czereśnie i ponownie trochę nut alkoholowych. Wysycenie średnie w kierunku do wysokiego. Zdecydowanie Alchel’owi Bruin brakuje pełni, ciała.

Poured from a 750ml. bottle (differs from the one in picture, alias bottle) Brought this at a Greek restaurant, so unfortunately, notes aren’t extensive. Appearance: Poured rich, light brown body, average sized tan head. Smell: malt & dried fruit. Taste: Warm, malt-like with some hints of chocolate. Mouthfeel: Malty with some brown sugar. Drinkability: Easily drinkable, alcohol is well camouflaged in the abundant taste.

Cerveja cobre escuro de alta carbonatação. Aroma levemente alcoólico, balanceado com doce do caramelo e leve café. Sabor doce e forte, álcool sobreposto pelo café e dulçor caramelizado.

33cl bottle pours a deep reddish brown with nice, lasting tan head. Nose is dried fruit and nuts with some chocolate and toffee. Taste is more fruit and nut, toffee, a bit of unidentified herb and a slight metallic twang. It is rounded and full bodied but remarkably light and moreish and it’s not even that heavily carbonated. Long fruity, slightly warm finish. Remarkably well balanced beer.

Sour, acidic taste, dark full bodied beer, earthy with a small head, similar level to the Achel Blonde

Bottle: Hazed, deep brown with an off-white head. Raisin, chocolate, caramel aroma. Sweet caramel malt, chocolate malt, dark fruit, slightly roasty flavour. A little spice.....smooth and rich.

Bottle brought back from Bruges. Hazy brown with a thin cream head. Nice fruity toffee aroma. The taste has spice, aniseed, toffee, stewed fruits. Quite rich flavours. Nice.

Wow, hadn’t rated this. Been awhile. Will it be good or will it be "achel" of its former self? Zing. I’ll be here all night. Spoiler alert: It’s good. Deep clear reddish amber with a lasting one-finger beige head. Really a beaut. The aroma is trappist yeast, nuts, red currant, prune. The flavor is nice, dry with a touch of candi sugar sweetness, crisp, light bitter finish, yeasty. Medium-bodied, well carbonated and lively on the feel. Really solid one from the trapperoonies.
