Bottle. Brown/deep ruby with big persisting tan head. Light aroma of sweet malt, yeast, dried fruit. Flavour is sweet, caramel, candy sugar, dried fruit, spicy hints. But all well balanced with a moderate carbonation and an adecuate bitterness. Easy to enjoy. Slightly too ’perfect’, means a bit artificial.

Clear brown pour with a small tan head. Yeast, roasted malts, bread, biscuits, caramel and burnt sugar, dried fruits for aroma. Balanced mild taste of sweet, sour and bitter with a nice little warming sensation at the end. Medium body with medium carbonation. One of the classics, one of the greats.

Bottle from Mercator Hipermarket. Good drinkability, ok aroma levels, somewhat too little depth in aroma and taste for a brune though.

33cl bottle at home. Appearance: slightly hazy chestnut brown with medium off-white head. Aroma: sweet malts, dried apricot, dust, slight banana and grains. Taste: high sweetness and medium bitterness. Notes of brown sugar, banana, grains, yeast and a trace of peach and tea. Palate: medium bodied, watery texture and lively carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mahongin värinen lasissa. Tuoksu hiivainen ja taatelinen. Maussa hedelmää ja hiivaa edelleen. Suutuntuma tasainen ja keskitäyteläinen. Kohtalainen hapotus.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2017 Dejlig belgisk øl. Balance mellem det bitre, det søde og smagen af gær og malt.

At times one is fortunate, located Achel 8 Bruin in Santa Fe with a number of other hard to find beers. My Rochefort Trappistes glass receives half of the 11.2 oz bottle. It serves up a dark amber-brown liquid and an eggshell white head with steady carbonation. The nose is rather pleasant, yeast, spun sugar, grain. A sip delivers yellow fruit, yeast again, bread, green apple and an unexpected lingering bitterness. A great, late afternoon treat. Now for that other half.

Bottle. Unclear red to copper colour, rocky tan head. Aroma of cherries, dried fruits, caramel and some nuts. Taste is medium- sweet and light+ bitter, of raisins, cherries, dried fruits, caramel, apples, nuts, light vinous. Medium body and carbonation, dried fruits in the finish. Very nice.

April/2016 Strong brown ale. An excellent brew. I would pass over it in the future for my favorite quads. But if you found it on tap somewhere it would be a treat. Nice Belgium Yeast presence, malty, cherry and plum. Nicely balanced bitter sour aftertaste. An awesome brew. I can't wait to try their quad ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
