Pretty good but not in the league of Rochefort or Westvleteren. Its a little bit "hot" but not so much so as the regular 8. It lacks the caramel plum smoothness of the much stronger, previously mentioned beers. This one tastes like 12% where the others taste more like this beers 8%. It does have a nice warming effect though. Overall a good beer but not as much so when I can buy Rochefort 10 for the same price.

bottiglia 33 cl, schiuma fine beige persistente, colore rubino scuro, al naso malto spezie lieviti e banana, in bocca malto spezie frutta candita, carbonatazione decisa, corpo rotondo, amaro moderato, alcool un p accentuato. Molto simile alla sorella Blond, decisamente Trappista.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2017 Subtle aroma with bread, a little banana and some plums and figs. Smooth beer, that isn?t very aggressive or shouty. Plums, figs, banana, liquorice, sage, very subtly apricots Decent mid-performer.

Pours hazy (light) brown with a minimal, lasting, off-white head. The aroma contains roasted malts, yeast, caramel, dried fruits, spices. Hard to really notice whats in there - and not sure if thats a good or a bad thing. It tastes light to medium bitter and light sweet. Medium body, quite creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. A sympathetic and modest Trappist.

Barwa ciemno brązowa z rubinowymi refleksami. Dość gruba, beżowa piana. Zbudowana z drobnych pęcherzykw. Aromat trochę mało wyraźny, można się jednak doszukać ciemnych, czerwonych owocw, delikatnych akcentw palonych i minimalnych nut alkoholowych. W smaku dominuje goryczka, sucha, palona, nieco wytrawna. Dalej delikatne nuty od ciemnych słodw, czereśnie i ponownie trochę nut alkoholowych. Wysycenie średnie w kierunku do wysokiego. Zdecydowanie Alchelowi Bruin brakuje pełni, ciała.

Poured from a 750ml. bottle (differs from the one in picture, alias bottle) Brought this at a Greek restaurant, so unfortunately, notes arent extensive. Appearance: Poured rich, light brown body, average sized tan head. Smell: malt & dried fruit. Taste: Warm, malt-like with some hints of chocolate. Mouthfeel: Malty with some brown sugar. Drinkability: Easily drinkable, alcohol is well camouflaged in the abundant taste.
