Saying it was the best of the Christmas in Belgium 2007 gift pack sounds more impressive than it really is.
I hope next year Shelton Brothers finds better beers to consider special enough to give to give to your friends. DeadGuyFrank (347) - http://westchesterbeer.com, USA - JAN 6, 2008
Warming is a word used foundly, not here. The warming sensation you get with this beer is sweet but weird tasting, lots of alcohol and straw taste, not recommended. Ratman197 (14686) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JAN 5, 2008
Bottle poured a hazy golden amber with a lasting off white head. Aromas of straw, pear, spice and yeast. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of pear, apple, spice, light straw and light yeast with a smooth slightly warming bittersweet finish. bleeng (1681) - Seattle still not near Beersel., Washington, USA - JAN 4, 2008
750 bottle. Dark copper with nose of hops, spices, alcohol and more spices. Body is a bit thin and well carbonated-very "fluffy". Alcohol hits first then the spices-not real subtle. An OK beer but not one I’d seek out. Cornfield (5570) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JAN 3, 2008
750ml bottle: This has a clear amber body with a foamy off-white head. Doesn’t last too very long. It has an aroma of sweet apples and pears, sugary light malts, and soapy yeast. Medium-to-light-bodied, its fruitiness carries the flavor along with some supportive malt, a soapy bitterness balancing it out. Right at the finish you can get a feel of its sturdy alcohol content. Excepty for that, this seems like a pleasant, sessionable ale.

11.2 oz bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar. Poured as a burnt orange hue with a firm topping of head. The nose was a soapy and mild aroma of hop, yeast and malt with none of the elements dominating over the other. The flavor has a delicate sweetness to it and a undeniable spice presence of coriander, and pepper. Aftertaste is somewhat resembling of soap and vinaigrette. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - DEC 28, 2007
Bottle from a Christmas in VBelgium gift pack sold at bevmo. Poured a ruddy, orange-amber with a short lasting off white head. Aroma of fruit, apple, yeast and sugar. Pretty straightforwad and spicy brew. Alot of sugary sweetness in the beginning, which gave way too fruit and spice. Medium bodied with a moe assertive alcohol presence than expected. Angeloregon (2055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 27, 2007
From a Christmas in Belgium pack--Poured a nice amber hazy body with a decent off-white head. Nose of sweet chalky semi-sweet and spicy malts. A bit of an alcohol bite but nothing overwhelming. Solid mouth feel--good balance of carbonation and flavor. Finished mild, but overall impression was quite good.

(330 ml bottle (part of a Shelton Bros. Christmas gift pack) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/topsham/b target=blank>Bootleggers) Pretty decent, fruity and sweet...Pours cloudy amber with one finger of biege head. Aroma of stewed fruit, alcohol, a bit of red wine and rock candy sweetness. Mouthfeel medium-full, lots of fine carbonaton, actually quite syrupy-sticky as it warms. Light rings of lacing. Flavor of stewed fruits and candyish malt sweetness. Definitely on the sweet side. Moderate alcohol burn. Seems a little over-carbonated as well. Not bad. Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy/fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (flowers, herbs, apricot), lightly yeasty (basement), with notes of dried pineapple/mango, gum, alcohol, coriander. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Very watery and fairly fizzy too, not much of a mouthfeel to speak of here. Attractive fruity nose, but pretty run of the mill overall.
