Bottle (from Bitter Virtue, BB Sep 05). Red-Brown colour. Dried fruits, fresh zingy berries and malty caramel on the nose with subdued spicy earthiness. Sweet flavours tempered in the mouth with smooth mild bitterness and aren’t actually quite as sweet as you first think. Despite being fairly old in excellent condition and without the overcarbonation some other raters seem to have suffered from. fiulijn (20493) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 5, 2006
Amber color; huge head, nice lace. Nice aroma, malty, a bit fruity, subtle hops. The taste is quite sweet and malty, with some caramel and candi sugar. Not extremely complex, but pleasant. BartC (727) - Lichtaart, BELGIUM - NOV 24, 2006
Bottle. Dark-red colour. Creamy head. Aroma of malt and yeast. Taste: rosted malts and a bit spicy. Orange? Some mild bitterness at the end. Pleasant but not spectacular. Grovlam (4247) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 13, 2006
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2006 Bottle 33 cl. Brown / dark color. Big off-white head. Aroma is fruity with some caramel notes. Even some yeasty notes as well. Fantastic smooth and pleasing beer. Bottle, BBE March 2007 Frothy, light brown head, but the frothiness is rather nice. Reminds me a bit of cobwebs. Clear, deep brown (with a reddish shine) body. Soapy aroma of hops. Remarkable absence of malts as one would guess to smell when drinking a deep brown beer. Lightly bitter and sweet in the beginning. Smoothening out to the end (lightly bitter and sweet). Rather nice flavour. Gr0ve (2177) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 22, 2006
Bottle, Københavnske Øldage 2006. Dark brown. Clear. Sweet black currant aroma. Some yeasty flavours even though the beer is clear. Raisins and candy sugar. Hops are there, but play second violin behind the malts and the sugars. Skinnyviking (9570) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 5, 2006
Bottle. Light brown long lasting high head. Unclear dark red body. Aroma of raspberries. Cocoa butter flavor, pleasant bitternes and a fair amount of carbon dioxide making the beer ticklish.
