An epic brew from Achilles, a red-brown rich and malty masterpiece with just a dash of hoppy bitterness for balance.

18/IV/15 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: 19/III/15 (2015-450)

Gusher alert!
Clear red to orange beer, big creamy to fizzy off-white head, unstable, dissipates quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: banana overload, very sweet and sugary, yeast, some orange peel, more banana. MF: way too much carbonation, medium to full body. Taste: sweet and sugary start, lots of overripe banana, some citrus, yeast. Aftertaste: little spicy, soft bitterness, cloves, bit of orange peel, yeast.

Poured a clear medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is caramel, fruit, alcohol and yeast.

0,33 cl bottle. Orange brown coloured beer with small head. Sweet taste, alcoholy warm taste and smalle bitter. Lacks definition.

Not the actual tripel in this range but still a tripel-like beer, with a cream white, decreasing, thin head and warm ’old gold’ colour; bready and doughy character, fruity (apple, peach), some weak honeyish sweetness, yeasty with mild spiciness, but solvents as well. Not the masterpiece as claimed above, but more than acceptable.

guiroul33 (255) - Bordeaux, FRANCE - SEP 28, 2014
Clear amber color, minimal head. Aroma of caramel, pear, liquor, fruit tart. Taste is rather sweet but well balanced, with a warming alcohol feeling in the aftertaste, and a long finish. Nice!

Bijna helder, donker amberkleurig, kleine licht crèmekleurige kraag. Combinatie van mout, caramel en fruitige hop.

Taster on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Mostly hazy orange color. Thin ring of white head. Couple dots of lace. Interesting aroma. Like orange cream candy. Orange, some vanilla, light spice. Moderate sweet taste, light spicy. Light nice bit of alcohol warmth. Solid, satisfying belgian strong ale.
