COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Acme IPA is profoundly hoppy, finished with over a pound of fresh whole hops per barrel. The result of this generous hopping is a beer that is deliciously dry, and eminently drinkable in spite of its apparent strength.
2012 vintage: 6.9% abv

I had this beer on tap. The color is a light golden/amber. The smell is of fruits/hops. The taste is a lightly malty/more hop aftertaste. Good for a PA, weak for an IPA.

Mild pine/hop aroma with light color and carbonation. Flavor is very bitter with some nice spicy hop taste and unfortunately turns harshly odd. Medium mouth feel with a nice dry finish, but that soon fades and a harsh bitter after taste that lingers way too long. I really didn't get an IPA sense from this brew, more of some IPA/Spice combination that doesn't work.

I must've had a bad six-pack because I could not detect any hop flavor in this IPA. Tasted pretty bad, maybe light struck. I'll try it again if someone else buys.

Golden brown color, small white head. Hoppy citric aroma. Good balance, nice spicy hop finish. Decent IPA

Copper color, moderate white head, some lace. Aroma of herbal/spicy hops, touch of malt. Big hop bite, lingering bitterness. Medium body. Pretty nice. Shared with frielock.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2004 Light golden, nice head and lace. Moderatley hoppy nose, sprucy and piney. Medium bodied, nicely hopped, malt base seems a little weak, some floral notes as well. Slightly warming with some off putting metallic notes in finish. Decent but shouldn't skimp on the malt.

JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 8, 2004
Golden yellow in color with decent head, tiny effervescent bubbles, and lots of lacing. Middling floral aroma. Taste is all citric hops with little to balance it. Tastes a lot like a hoppy American Standard. Decent beer, drinkable, but not near other quality beers from Cali.

Drew (2411) - Kent, Ohio, USA - JAN 3, 2004
Extremely sharp citrus hop at front of every sip, like knives slicing into your tongue. Great beginning, but there's just that little problem of "where's the malt?" - After that initial shock, the rest is juicy and full of resin, but just too thin overall. Looked great - hazy orange.

ClarkVV (6839) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 28, 2003
Gold/straw, slightly hazy, thin white head, not much lacing. Weak hops aroma. Fairly large flavor of alpha hops, hay, some light floral tones and more bittering hops. Body is medium, mouthfeel is creamy, lots of air, but not peppery carbonation. Very good malt balance. It's always nice to have a good IPA to go to when you get tired of those somewhat over-the-top double IPAs. If this is North Coast's budget beer line, I couldn't tell.
