ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

On tap: Pours a med. amber with a white thick head. Descent but mild aroma of cascade and crystal malt. WAY TOO MUCH DIACETYL. This is anything but smooth. I expected more from this brewer. This even has a watery cardboard body. Just a really poor Pale Ale.

On tap at brewery...weak ale, watery, very little flavor and a big let down from a style I usually enjoy. Session indeed...

(Bottle) Generic pale ale that features a mild and somewhat sweet maltiness with a bit of corn flavor, but a pretty weak hops bitterness; Consistently bland and boring from start to finish, but the finish is rather weak and flavorless; Aromas of, well, not much, its kinda sweet with maybe a little maltiness; Pale golden color with a slight cloudiness; Large, off white head has average retention, fading to a thin layer, but the head has trouble grabbing the glass

Pretty much your typical pale ale, with some nice prominent hops in the finish, but not enough solid malt to make it stand out. Some grittiness as it warmed brought the mediocre ratings down a bit.

[email protected] Coast. Pretty bland pale ale, grainy, malty and tinny, some lemony hops in the finish, but hard to write too much about it.

Amber pour with a foamy white head and some nice lacing. Light citrus and hops in the nose. Some malts, not much though. Very mellow flavors. The malts come through. Some crystal. The hops are faintly citrusy. A little floral. Its hard to tell really. Everything seems to blend so well that it hides each flavor. Very smooth and refreshing.

Compared to thier other brew, Red Seal, this is just not in the same league. It is much more of a session brew with little or no stand out features.

Sitting here cat fishing on the snake river, very surreal, rating a beer. Pale golden color, citrusy light hoppy aroma, some crystal malt shines through. Well made cookie cutter pale.

Copper color, slight haze with nice frothy head. Aroma is soapy and has light malt. I wonder what hop this is because I have smelled the "soap" aroma before and wondered about it. Flavor is light, hoppy at the beginning, but settles quickly into a very light malty aftertaste.

Copper coloured body with a smallish white head. Aroma of pacific northwest hops with some mild maltiness. Light to Medium-bodied; Fair taste, somewhat hoppy, but mostly malty. Aftertaste not strong and a bit too sweet. Overall, a sub-par APA...nice to try here in upstate new york, however! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York.
