COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

12 oz bottle to shaker. Appearance: Light gold, decent white head, clear. Aroma: Faint. Some citrus. Otherwise leaves almost no impression on me I dont have a cold, do I? Flavor: So faint its really hard for me to tell. I get some grain and a mildly hop-bitter finish. Palate: Light/thin body, medium carbonation. Dry finish. Overall: Im having a hard time with this. On the one hand I think this beer achieves what it purports to (it is indeed smooth, clean, and sessionable as the commercial description claims), and I could see times where this would be exactly the right beer for the moment. On the other hand those are moments when I dont particularly want to think about, taste, savor, or enjoy the beverage those times where I want to go to a pub with friends and order a few pints of something that is cool, drinkable, utterly unobtrusive and forgettable, when I would be just as happy ordering water if water contained alcohol. And its hard to give an overall impression of a beer that seems best suited to make no impression at all.

Garrrafa @ Xian Craft Beer Festival. Coloracao ambar, espuma com boa formacao e baixa duracao. No aroma malte, fermento, mel e frutas citricas (pessego tambem talvez?). Sabor inicial adocicado com lupulos ao fundo dando um final amargo. Corpo leve, retrogosto levement amargo e duradouro. Refrescante, boa drinkability.

The scent of malt is really faint here. I took a few deep whiffs and caught some orange peel in there, but again, really faint. The brew is a pale amber, a shade deeper than a pilsner gold. The head is white and thins pretty quickly. The taste is pretty clean, not very dynamic, but it has a lightly sweet singularity. It is paler than pale, lighter than light. Its crisp, tastes fine, but theres not much character. Theres mild carbonation burn on the palate with every sip, but its not bad. Theres a thing filminess left behind. Not bad, but only a little more interesting than a Coors Banquet Beer.

Taste comprises grassy hop, light cereal notes, clementines, toasted bread, lemon rind, grain. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so but drinkable.

On tap at Buffalo Bar, Brisbane. Golden with more malt on nose than hops, ucommon for APAs these days. A nice combination of malts for the tastebuds and a bit of spice on the palate.
