ManVsBeer (10928) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 21, 2014
Cask @ Dirty Dicks, Halifax. Golden with a very slight tangerine tint (although maybe not), but it does glow. Funnily enough I was chatting to the barman at Hebden Bridge’s Fox & Goose about this beer two days earlier having never heard of it before, and at the time learn’t that the Brewer at Acorn is a Blackpool FC fan, hence the name of the ale hailing from Oakwell territory, although August 2014 is not a good time to be celebrating the Seasiders given their current troubles. A geographical beer oddity it seems. Crisp and malty which is more so in its nose with a very easy drinking texture.

A bit of car tyre. Way off the ball for Acorn who are usually spot on. Score 2.2DruncanVeasey (8260) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 4, 2011

Cask handpull, The Smithfield Hotel, Manchester, 02/04/11. Brilliant gold with a level white foam lacing with each sip. Perfumed soapy hop aroma with juicy grass dabs. Lemon and grapefruit rind, huge bittering hop with licks of husk and biscuity balance. Too bitter. Just OK.
