avion, aldridge. Black beer with medium tan head and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malts and some licorice. Taste is roasted malts, light licorice, a touch of coffee and dark fruits. Solid stuff.
Cask at The Green Dragon, Leek (JDW) A deep brown colour with a foamy off white head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, some coffee, wafers and some hazelnuts. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, hazelnuts, some coffee, biscuit, slight dried fruits, subtle liquorice and earthy hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, roasty bitterness in the finish. A nice, pleasant porter. Sweet biscuity, chocolate flavours balanced with coffee, nutty and earthy hops. Delicious.
