Cask gravity at The White Horse, Hedgerley. Darkish brown, lasting beige head. Good decent brown bitter that no one makes any more. Lots of good dark brown malts. Some yeast on aroma. OK I guess a brown ale.

Cask conditioned handpump Alexandra Arms Kettering. A dark brown coloured beer with an interesting aroma featuring toffee caramel and a bit of spice. There’s a hint of oxidisation in the mouth together with a sweet and nutty note with again a little spice. Endearing.
