COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rye IPA, showcasing tropical hop varieties from Australia and New Zealand. "Back N the GSSR," a play on the popular Beatles song, is an acronym for the hops utilized in this delicious brew. The hoppy nose is pungently funky. Solely dry-hopped with New Zealand Nelson hops, the beer moves quickly from tropical pineapple notes to a citrusy grapefruit finish. The rye malt adds a delightful medium bodied backbone to the IPA, which has a slightly dry finish. This 5 hopped beer isn’t one to miss.

Taps slightly hazy golden with a nice eggshell head. Aroma features malty, rye, fruity and subtle hoppy tones. Flavor nicely echoes the a aroma while tossing in a woody note. Mouthfeel presents firm body and good fizz. Back in the GSSR, you don’t know how drunken you are--

Being that Alpine Nelson is my favorite beer I’ve set a super high bar when it comes to Nelson hopped beers. Gave this one a shot against my better judgement since Acoustic Ales Nelson/Simcoe hopped Willow Wolves is such a train wreck. But this beer has a much higher score and several reviews claim it’s better than Alpine Nelson, it’s not. I couldn’t detect any of the familiar Nelson flavors or aromas. Very muddled and slightly cloying. AA should ship all their Nelson hops to Alpine since these hops are in short supply and Alpine will treat them with the respect they deserve.

Pours a finger of head on a hazy straw body.
The aroma has a low dankness, grapefruit, pineapple and spices.
The taste has great balance, mild bitter to start, spicy middle and a long moderate bitter finish.
The texture is soft with a nice fizz.
This is a great IPA.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Light spice and light grapefruit aroma. Spice and earth flavor with grapefruit. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Pine and earth lingers with spice.

22oz bomber pours with a slightly hazy deep gold body that has copper hues and supports a weak off white head. The mild aroma offers up some citrus hops and pineapple and other vague sweet fruity notes. The taste starts with a bitter hoppy bite of pine, grapefruit and pineapple where it quickly picks up resiny hoppiness. To midway it brings up a sense of a rye like twang amid the resiny hops. I just bought this bottle but maybe it’s long in the tooth.

On tap at the brewery. It pours an orange color with an off white head. The aroma is spicy with some mildly fruity orange. The flavor is solid with spice, light caramel, and nicely toasted and floral bitterness. Good.

Pours a hazy gold with very little head. Aroma is of apricot and mango with slight ester but not boozy. Extremely hop-forward, has the citrus flavor that makes Nelson beers so amazing. Finishes clean maybe a tiny bit astringent. Light and narrow on the palate, overall excellent and would recommend to fans of bright, citrusy pales.

Bomber at New Moon Restaurant, Nevada City, CA. Pours cloudy golden with a thick off-white head and a toffee and citrus aroma. There is a hearty pale malt flavor with a bitter citrus and rye malt finish. Fairly dry a very easy to drink.

Deep gold, bright white head. Juicy, somewhat bitter. Delicious. Grapefruit peel, white wine grapey notes, fresh cut grass. Just enough malt.
