Short: Light bodied, refreshing APA with low Mosaic aroma
Origin: Tap at Encinitas Ale House Sample: 4oz Glass: Mini flute Price: $2 Date: 1/18/14
Long: Pours a light, clear straw with soapier white foam. Nose isn’t really that passionfruit Mosaic I was expecting. It is more of a white pepper. Taste follows suit atop a body that is very light bodied, grassy, very sessionable in true APA form. Mild biscuit balance. Very good overall, just wouldn’t peg this as Mosaic but who cares.
Flaws: Mosaic doesn’t deliver
Remedy: Keep making whatever recipe this is
I got the beer in a packet of four to trial. The beer is far too fruity for me, the taste is very strong and overwhelming. Theydon_Bois (19189) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2014
Nitro Keg at Acoustic Ales taproom, 19/04/14.
Clear pale golden with a good sized off white head.
Nose is toasty malt, citric peel, bitter orange, straw.
Taste comprises mosaic hops, straw, light grapefruit, citric rind, bitter orange.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with subtle hop bitterness, smooth and comforting on the palate.
Decent enough APA but I think the nitro serving may take the edge off it a little?!
