COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
THE ALE: This clean, malty ale has a robust flavor with fruity, plum aromas. The carbonation balances the moderate sweetness from the malt, resulting in a dry and smooth finish. It pairs great with savory foods like barbecue, rich stews, grilled meats, and dark chocolate cake. THE STORY: The Colombian Monks could really cut loose during the annual retreat hosted by Del at his home near Naivasha Lake in Kenya. Smiling ear to ear and with ale in hand, they would dance the night away! You might find you are doing your own little happy dance after a glass of Danciní Monks. Drink, dance, repeat.

25 oz. Bottle. Great dubbel! Light citrus scent with bread, plum, and malt. Deep copper pour with a frothy head, carbo loaded! Light/med body. Spice fronted taste with a bready molasses middle and big malt aftertaste. Loved it!

A gift from friend Paul B; Thanks! Poured at a good temperature with a nice, thick, light tan colored, foamy head that lasts for a while and some lace. Color is a clear, dark honey amber with loads of bubble trails. Aroma is caramel, toffee, malt, yeast, wine, spice. Flavorís like nose and has carbonic tang up front followed by sweet then the flavors and bitter. Also has circus peanuts, and cloves. Body and carbonation are good. Finish is like flavor, fairly long and a hint of alcohol warmth.

750 c&c from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Batch 008. Opened with a decent pop, releasing a plummy cloud of vapor. Pours copper with a 4 finger frothy head. Aroma is something like plum, raisin cake and treacle. Med body. Flavor is treacle, raisin, plum/prune and a hint of chocolate. Certainly not dry, but itís within a tolerable range of treacle. Iím of two minds about it, but it makes me eager to try something like a tripel. Likin this!

Batch 1 Bottle 976. Deep, hazy orange-amber with a big cream colored head that laces a little and fades pretty quickly. Mild aroma of plum, orange, bubblegum and caramel. Taste is yeasty and bitter and mildly sweet and spicy. Very drinkable and very nice tasting, but itís all just a bit thin. Medium bodied, slightly dry, and mildly fizzy. I like it. Itís a little thin, but itís much more easy drinking than a typical dubbel.

Aroma is malt forward with sweet dried fruit being the predominant fragrance and hints of caramel. Pours a beautiful reddish copper with a long lasting off-white head and minimal lacing. Taste is medium sweet with notes of dark dried fruit, and caramel. There some nutty/alcohol notes in the finish. Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation and a medium lasting aftertaste. Overall, I liked this Dubbel. Nice work Adelbert.

Batch 9, bottled 3/25/2014 - over 2 years old. Struggled a bit with the cork, but eventually was able to remove it cleanly. Hazy medium mahogany with a dense two-finger head and minimal lace. Rich dark fruit - plum, fig and raisin - aromas with chewy bread, yeast and a hint of alcohol. Taste is mostly fruity sweetness with a breath of alcohol and yeast notes. Nothing hoppy about it. Full body, generous effervescence, creamy mouthfeel and a lingering sweetness in the finish.

A good beer. Cloudy orange and tan color. White foamy head. Bitter Belgian yeast aroma. Smooth yeasty bitter flavor that engulfs the taste buds. I like it. Its fizzy, refreshing and satisfying. I usually go on about good beer like this but donít need to with this one. Its speaks for itself.
