COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
THE ALE: This ale has a well-rounded aroma of citrus notes, clove, and apple. It is refreshing and soft, with balanced hints of bitter orange peel and coriander. It finishes dry and clean, making it perfect for pairing with lighter foods such as mussels, salmon, and chicken. THE STORY: Naked Nun was named to mark the time in Colombia when Del was robbed by bandits while hiking down from Cerro de Monserrate. They took his wallet, watch and every stitch of clothing. After hiding for a while behind some sheep, he finally got the attention of some local nuns, who were nice enough to give him a blanket and bus fare to get back home. Technically, he was the naked one, but Naked Gringo just didn’t have the same ring to it!

Aroma of musk, citrus, and some spice. Pours a hazy light yellow with no head or lacing. (Others reported a large white head, but not the case on this pour.) The taste is slightly sour/musky with a strong citrus note and a hint of spice. The flavor is quick and then it’s gone, swallowed up by a dry finish. Body is medium-light with medium fizzy carbonation. Overall, crisp and refreshing - champaign like. Will go well vegetarian fare.

Adelbert's has been a source of well received brews. But witbier is far from my favorite style. How about a try on this 750 ml bottle from Santa Fe, NM? Job 1, get the cork out. Not easy. Strongly tilted into my snifter tasting glass it exhibits a striking yellow body and a promptly gone, whitish head. Lifting for a smell there is floral and some yellow fruit. A drink, well now, better than anticipated. It comes with grain, almost-sweet nectarine, bread. More spice than any witbier tried before and that is good. Drink again? Probably not.

Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Smells sweet and slightly spicy. Taste is balanced with hints of sweet and spiced. Light-bodied with a wet texture and average mouth-carbonation, Adelbert’s Naked Nun Wit finishes with a lingering citrus note.

Large bottle in Fl. Lemon aroma, kinda like a cleaner. Very frothy. Bit of tart but also sweet. Simply not noticing coriander or so called spices. Overpriced

The aroma is yeasty and wheat like but very weak. The appearance is pale gold. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall weak and off style but drinkable.

Very light in both aroma, not taste. Yeasty but very bubbly. Takes away from the flavor. Not what it should be ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Has a dull yellow color with a 1 inch head when poured. Very little lacing but great bubble taste in the mouth. Tastes of wheat grass and has a lemony citrus flavor that sticks around in the aftertaste. Mediocre mouthfeel.

Bomber from Spec’s - Memorial in Houston, TX. Hazy yellow pour with a white head that faded pretty quickly. Aroma is yeast, clove, and yeah I get the apple as well. Some more of that prickly mild tart apple on taste, lively carbonation. Decent.

Owl farm, brooklyn tap: pours yellow with a white head. Taste is lemon, sugar and spice. Taste is lightly sweet. Hints of spice. Very light. Not bad at all.

Big foamy white head that lasts forever. Nose of mild citrus. Flavor of light mixed fruits, perhaps lemons, banana, grapefruit and bitter-root. Has a bit of a spice finish to it with some washed out coriander and cardamon. Very dry. Clearly a well made beer, but its not very exciting either.
