This complex, straw-colored ale has clove and pear aromas. A marriage of spicy and fruity flavors help perfectly balance its elegant malt profile. Pair with rich foods like steaks, roasts, earthy cheeses, and cheese cake.

Bottle:   Seems dark for a Tripel, deep caramel, hazy, sudsy off-white head, little lacing.   Pale fruity nose, soft breadiness.   Pale breadiness on the tongue, a little fruity.   Very plain and simple on the nose and on the tongue.   Not real floral or bright.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Like thier Dubbel, its very average.   A little mealy, has a pale fruitiness to it, but it not bright, floral, or at all like a real Tripel.   Not bad, but not consistant with the style.   Thanks for the bottle Bill!

A companion buy along with another Adelbert's beer from a liquor store in Santa Fe. Hopefully this one registers better. Going briskly into a tulip glass I note a hay colored body and a plentiful snow white head. Giving it a deep smell I find cane sugar and something flowery. Sampling it, my goodness, this is fine. There is peach, banana, a little yeastiness, cloves, a slight concluding bitterness. Tripels are my least favorite of the Belgians but this brew definitely holds up.

Almost no head, clear copper-orange beer. Orange, coriander, bit liqueurish , smell, ’hot’, strong hinting at alcohol and rich syrup. Liqueurish taste, alcohol sweetness, just a touch of coriander. Very slick - oily bit of alcoholheat. Arch-typical USA interpretation of Be beer. In itself not bad, quite OK. Thanks to Stefaan!

Decent straw and spicy yeast nose. Golden color with a frothy head. Hints of clove and fruit with a slight alcohol bite. Medium and crisp.

Bottle from tavour. Lots of banana flavor that’s typical for triples. Quite surprised that after about a year that this didnt suffer much with age. Nice.

4 oz draft goblet taster at Lone Star Taps & Caps in Lewisville, Texas. The pour is a clear golden yellow with not much of a white head. The aroma is sweet floral, herbal yeast and a big full traditional Tripel nose. The taste is sweet, floral hay and the clove herbal Tripel yeast. The palate is medium to heavy bodied with soft to low carbonation and the yeast in the alcohol warming finish. This is a well made Tripel.

Pours a very hazy golden color with a frothy white head. Light aromas of candied sugar, some fruit and light alcohol. I definitely picked up some pear in the flavor along with some grass/hay. A fairly light body, especially for a Tripel. Overall it’s satisfactory but nothing special.

Tap at Brass Tap, Fort Worth. Pours pretty light yellow, not too good looking. Like poorly hydrated urine. Aroma is fairly standard tripel, but a it mild mild, lemon, clove, definitely some nice Ester sugars, not too complex but not bad either. Flavor is hmm, I mean, it’s kind of what a Belgian tripel is, but very mold and very sweet. It’s a bit too sweet for me. Clove, sugar, lots of sugar and esters. It’s fine but nothing exceptional.

On tap at Zax. Grainy, buttery, sweet aroma. Texture and body a bit light. Mildly sweet, floral flavors, not bad for an American version. Almost there....

Hazy golden orange with a white foamy three-finger with modest lace. Aromas of citrus, banana, medicinal herb, pepper and Belgian yeast. Taste is dark fruit sweetness accompanied by ripe banana, toasted malt, earthy hop, pepper and alcohol. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfell, big carbonation and a sticky sweet and peppery finish.
