Adnams Broadside commemorates the fierce battle of Sole Bay fought against the Dutch Republic in 1672 off the Southwold coast, just across the green from our brewery. The fullness of the beer makes it a good accompaniment for stews and steak or kidney and ale pies. All sausage dishes complement Broadside well. A mature cheese ploughmans or cheeseboard of hard English cheeses are a perfect match for bottled Broadside. (Contains barley). Pasteurised Bottle.

From bottle. Struck by a strong aroma of syrup and malt. Deep reddish brown appearance with a decent enough head. Quite smooth to drink, thick syrup flavour that reminded me of liquorice. Overall a tasty ale with a bitter finish. Felt like a winter ale to me.

Bottle from Johns Market drunk during a round of golf at Skamania Lodge in Stevenson WA. Very dark and malty. Dark flavours went well on a slightly cool afternoon under the sun.

Nice dark cherry colored body, with a small off-white head. Good caramel and malts in the aroma, very smooth. Nice body, sharp malts and hops combine with some dark fruit accents (cherry, currant). Nice dry ending.

Pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head. Aroma is of chocolate, toffee, dark fruits, molasses, and some sweet malts. Flavor is the same stronger on the dried fruit and molasses flavor. Wasnt sure what I was going to think of this one but was surprised, not a bad brew at all.

Bottle at Beer on the Pier, Chicago brought by Shelton Bros. Strong alcohol aroma with molasses. Cloudy dark amber color and slightly off-white head. Stronger and more flavorful than the Adnams Suffolk SSB. Pretty darn good, actually. I could see myself really enjoying a pint of this at an English pub. Good stuff.

Nice. Pours out a deep amber color with a very small white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Flavor is slightly hoppy, then over taken by the malts. has a nice fruit finish. Over all a nice brew. Something I will have again.
